Episode 31: update on the speech board

Here’s an update on the speech board for Jake. It takes a lot of repetition, but Jake is starting to understand a few of the characters on the board! He really likes The one that has the heart on itwhich says “I love you”, which is so sweet! He is also learning how to use” I want to go out.” we are also working on mommy and daddy which I recorded on the bottom of the board, as well as I want a snack, and I am thirsty. So far, he is really enjoying the board, even though he still needs my help to find the right words! #AutismAwareness

Episode 30: I altered the speech board

We bought a speech board for Jake. I think the board was a little overwhelming so I put duct tape on top of some of the phrases so he can see the ones he likes the best. He loves the one that says I want to go out so I made it very easy for him to see it. He’s been asking to push it, but just can’t find it so I have been helping him! He has also been carrying it around, so I know he likes it. Keep your fingers crossed! #Autism awareness

Episode 29: speech board

We started a new speech board for Jake. We have tried this many times before, but Jake seems to be more interested in trying it now. It may be a little too overwhelming for him, so we are ordering the board with maybe only 10 or 12 characters if interested, it is from Joyreal. You can find it on Amazon and it is very reasonably priced. Wish us luck and I will keep you updated on his progress! I am excited.!
