    Apparently, We Were Idiots: Lies Our Parents Told Us

    Remember when we believed swallowing a watermelon seed meant you'd grow a watermelon in your stomach? Or that swimming after eating would send you straight to the emergency room? How about turning on the dome light in the car? Apparently, that was basically a federal offense! In this episode of Mostly Me, Occasionally Wise, we're looking back at the ridiculous things we were told as kids that we believed without question—including the classic warning that making a funny face could leave you stuck that way forever. And then there's the big one: being told it was illegal to tell people who you voted for. The best part? Now we're adults... which means we're probably telling our own kids some of the same nonsense.
