    The Least Thing

Luke 16:10 teaches that faithfulness in little things reveals our character in greater responsibilities. God sees the small decisions, quiet acts of obedience, and unseen commitments that others may never notice. Have you ever spent hours trying to fix a problem only to discover that one tiny detail was responsible for everything going wrong? While working on the Another Well Ministries website, Jared Dyson has experienced that frustration firsthand. Sometimes a single misplaced character in a line of code can affect an entire website. Our lives often work the same way. We tend to think character is demonstrated in major decisions, public accomplishments, and extraordinary moments. But Jesus directs our attention to something much smaller. In this episode of Digging Another Well, we examine Luke 16:10 and what it means to be faithful in the least. The quiet prayer no one hears. The promise kept when nobody is watching. The responsibility completed when no one will check. These seemingly insignificant choices reveal something important about our hearts. Jesus also warns that unfaithfulness in small things can reveal problems that eventually affect much larger areas of our lives. This devotional is an invitation to examine the ordinary responsibilities God has already placed before us. Before asking God for something greater, are we being faithful with what He has given us today? Scripture: Luke 16:10 (KJV) In this episode: Understanding Luke 16:10Why faithfulness in small things matters to GodHow everyday decisions reveal Christian characterThe danger of overlooking seemingly minor compromisesPracticing obedience in ordinary momentsServing God faithfully when nobody is watchingDiscover more biblical encouragement and Christian growth resources at https://anotherwell.org. How Shall They Hear

Romans 10:14 asks a question every Christian should consider: How shall they hear without a preacher? People cannot believe in a Savior they have never heard about, and God has entrusted His people with the responsibility of sharing the gospel. Have you ever encountered someone searching for answers, comfort, or meaning in life? Perhaps you’ve recognized that they needed something more, but you weren’t sure what to say. Maybe you assumed someone else would talk to them about Jesus. In this episode of Digging Another Well, we examine Romans 10:14 and the responsibility Christians have to make the message of salvation known. The preaching of the gospel is essential, but sharing the truth about Jesus is not limited to a church pulpit. Ordinary believers encounter people every day who are searching for something they cannot quite identify. Our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family members may be waiting for someone to speak. You don’t need a perfect presentation or an impressive theological vocabulary to tell someone what Jesus Christ has done. You simply need a willingness to speak the truth. This devotional challenges believers to consider the people God has placed in their lives and the opportunities they may have to share the gospel. Anchor For The Soul

Hebrews 6:19 describes biblical hope as an anchor for the soul, both sure and stedfast. When life becomes uncertain, God offers something stronger than wishful thinking: a hope firmly anchored in Jesus Christ. We all face seasons when we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Questions about our families, jobs, health, finances, and future can leave us feeling like a boat drifting through rough waters. But the hope described in Scripture is different from the way we commonly use the word. Biblical hope is not simply wishing that things will work out. It is confidence in the One who never changes. In this episode of Digging Another Well, we explore Hebrews 6:19 and the beautiful picture of hope as an anchor. An anchor doesn’t stop the storm. It doesn’t eliminate the wind or calm every wave. Its purpose is to hold the vessel secure. In the same way, our confidence in Christ does not depend on circumstances becoming easier. It rests in the Savior who has gone before us. If you’re struggling with uncertainty, anxiety about the future, or a difficult decision, this devotional offers biblical encouragement to trust God’s promises rather than the changing circumstances around you. Near When It Breaks

Psalm 34:18 reminds us that God is near to the brokenhearted, even when life feels overwhelming and answers seem far away. When your heart is breaking, you may not need someone to explain everything. Sometimes, what you need most is to know you are not alone. During his years as a paramedic, Jared Dyson encountered people facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. While some situations required immediate medical intervention, others revealed a different kind of need: the comfort of someone’s presence. In this episode of Digging Another Well, we explore what David meant when he wrote, “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart.” God does not wait for us to recover before drawing near. He meets us in our grief, disappointment, uncertainty, and pain. His Word does not promise that every difficulty will disappear by morning, but it does remind us that His presence is available right now. If you’re experiencing heartbreak, grief, loneliness, or a difficult season, this biblical encouragement from Psalm 34:18 is for you. Scripture: Psalm 34:18 (KJV) In this episode: What Psalm 34:18 teaches about God’s presence in sufferingWhy comfort does not always require an explanationHow God responds to the brokenheartedFinding encouragement when life feels overwhelmingShowing Christlike compassion to someone who is hurtingNeed prayer? The Verdict

The Verdict | Is There Evidence You’ve Been With Jesus? — Acts 4:13 “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” — Acts 4:13 (KJV) If your life were examined today, would there be enough evidence to show that you’ve been with Jesus? It’s a searching question, and one that brings our devotional series, The Evidence of a Life With Jesus, to its conclusion. In this episode of Digging Another Well, we return to Acts 4:13 and the remarkable observation made about Peter and John. The religious leaders couldn’t explain their boldness, confidence, or transformation through ordinary qualifications. The evidence pointed to one conclusion: they had been with Jesus. Throughout this series, we’ve examined six areas where a genuine relationship with Christ produces visible evidence: our words, our love, our boldness, our pursuits, our generosity, and our peace. But the standard isn’t perfection. Peter denied Jesus. Thomas doubted. The disciples fled in fear. Yet their continued time with Christ produced a transformation that became impossible to overlook. The same can be true of us. The evidence of a life with Jesus isn’t manufactured through religious performance. It grows through the ordinary, consistent practice of spending time in His presence. The Evidence of Your Peace

The Evidence of Your Peace | Finding Peace in Difficult Times — John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” — John 14:27 (KJV) Is it possible to experience genuine peace when everything around you is falling apart? Jesus promised His followers a kind of peace that the world cannot provide. Not peace that arrives only when circumstances improve, but peace that remains even when they don’t. In this episode of Digging Another Well, we continue The Evidence of a Life With Jesus by examining John 14:27 and the remarkable difference between temporary relief and the lasting peace Christ gives. Drawing from personal experiences as a paramedic, we reflect on patients who faced life-threatening circumstances with an extraordinary calm rooted in their faith in God. Their situations hadn’t changed. Their medical realities were still serious. Yet they possessed a peace their circumstances couldn’t explain. We’ll also consider the disciples caught in a storm while Jesus slept peacefully in the boat, and Paul’s description of the peace of God that passes all understanding. The peace Jesus offers doesn’t require the storm to end. Scripture: John 14:27 (KJV) Additional Scripture: Philippians 4:7; Mark 4:35–41 🌿 Find more biblical encouragement at https://anotherwell.org Whatever you’re facing today, remember that the peace Christ gives is available in the middle of the storm, not only after it passes. The Evidence of Your Generosity

The Evidence of Your Generosity | A Heart Changed by Jesus — Luke 19:8 “And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.” — Luke 19:8 (KJV) What does generosity reveal about the condition of our hearts? True generosity isn’t measured simply by how much someone gives. Sometimes the most meaningful acts of kindness come from people who have very little to spare. In this episode of Digging Another Well, we continue The Evidence of a Life With Jesus by exploring Luke 19:8 and the remarkable generosity that followed Zacchaeus’s encounter with Christ. We’ll also consider the widow who gave two mites and a personal experience involving a fellow paramedic who quietly purchased a meal for someone in need, despite facing financial struggles of his own. These stories share something important: genuine generosity doesn’t always wait for an invitation, an appeal, or an abundance of resources. It flows from a heart that has been changed. When we spend time with Jesus, our grip on what we possess begins to loosen, and our willingness to meet the needs of others begins to grow. The Evidence of What You Pursue

The Evidence of What You Pursue | Putting God First — Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” — Matthew 6:33 (KJV) What does the way you spend your time, energy, and attention reveal about what matters most to you? Our pursuits tell a story. Not necessarily the story we tell others about our priorities, but the one our daily decisions reveal. In this episode of Digging Another Well, we continue The Evidence of a Life With Jesus by exploring Matthew 6:33 and what it means to seek God’s kingdom first. Through a personal story about choosing between an accounting career and an unexpected opportunity in healthcare leadership, we consider how God sometimes redirects the very plans we’ve spent years pursuing. We also examine Zacchaeus, whose determination to see Jesus led to an encounter that completely transformed what he valued. Following Jesus doesn’t mean abandoning every ambition. It means allowing Him to reorder our priorities and redirect our pursuits toward what matters eternally.
