Fangirling Over Heated Rivalry And Body Liberation With Tiana Dodson

Today, we’re fangirling over the cultural phenomenon Heated Rivalry with Tiana Dodson (she/her) and exploring the unexpected crossover with her other life's passion: body liberation. I bet this is a conversation you didn't even know you needed! Welcome to episode 19 of the Fangirl Your Life Podcast: Fangirling over Heated Rivalry and Body Liberation with Tiana Dodson In case you’re new to the concept, body liberation: ... is a social justice framework aimed at freeing individuals from systemic and political oppressions - such as racism, sizeism, and ableism - that dictate which bodies are deemed valuable, healthy, or desirable. As for Heated Rivalry? Well, some refer to it as that Canadian gay hockey show, while others (ahem, me) might just call it the best show they’ve ever watched. 3 Reasons You Need to Listen Today: Tiana shares how she’s deep-diving into - aka re-heating - Heated Rivalry Episode 1 as the co-host of a new, unofficial Heated Rivalry podcast focused on critical analysis. We are unpacking the deeper meaning of Heated Rivalry, specifically what it represents for the LGBTQ+ community, and exploring the powerful intersection between body liberation work and Heated Rivalry. We’re talking about getting that Happily Ever After for everyone, linking to body-positive romance novel recommendations, and highlighting romance trilogies that let you follow couples as they grow old together. Before we dive in, let me introduce you to our incredible guest.  With a decade as a body liberation facilitator and a lifetime of lived experience as a fat, biracial, queer, neurodivergent person, Tiana Dodson is well-versed in what it is to exist in a multiply-marginalized body. As an active co-creator of the syllabus for liberation, her work addresses how personal, community, and global liberation depend upon each other. Through her consulting services, group offerings, and public speaking, Tiana highlights the ways these systems of oppression are bound together and how we can push back against them.  Here are all the links you’ll need: Your actionables for the week Subscribe to receive Love Notes from Tiana Dodson - a free 5-day email series as a first step towards body liberation Get on the waitlist for the upcoming Heated Rivalry podcast:  Deep Crease: An Unofficial Heated Rivalry Deep Dive Podcast with Elinor and Tiana  Connect with Tiana: Website | Instagram | LinkedIn | YouTube   Check out Tiana’s charity shoutouts: National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA) | Playgrounds For Palestine  Join the Fangirl Newsletter to start your journey towards fangirling over your own life The Heated Rivalry Rabbit Hole The Show: Heated Rivalry on IMDb | Jacob Tierney (Showrunner) The Books: Author Rachel Reid | Buy the Series Other Resources And References Incl.
