You Can’t Fix the World, But You Can Clean Your Room

This week the guys dig into the decision not to livestream an execution, and why “justice will go forward, spectacle will not” might be the most sensible sentence to come out of Washington in a while. From there it’s across the ocean to Milan and Paris, where a young business owner stood in the street watching her shop burn, yelling at the rioters that she had voted for them. How does somebody not see it coming? That question takes the guys straight to Scripture. 1 Corinthians 2:14. 2 Corinthians 4:4. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, and if that’s true, no amount of evidence is going to open eyes that the enemy has shut. Only the Spirit does that. Which raises the uncomfortable question nobody wants to answer out loud: if we can see it, are we obligated to say something? The conversation turns toward home. Parents handing their kids to a school system and a youth group and hoping somebody else will raise them in the Lord. A church that went quiet and left a vacuum the social agencies had to fill. And then, with the midterm elections a week out, the guys get honest about abortion. Not as a political talking point, but as a question of what God actually says about children: a gift from the Lord, not a blob of tissue, not an inconvenience. They talk about Roe going back to the states, about the slippery slope from 1973 to assisted suicide in Canada, and about why forgiveness is always available even when justification never is. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all of it, stay to the end. Because you can’t fix global warming, but you can clean your room. You can’t change Washington, but you can talk to your son in the garage and take your daughter to ballet. Start there. Lift Jesus up, and He’ll do the drawing. Scripture referenced: 1 Corinthians 2:14, 2 Corinthians 4:4, 1 John 4:1, Genesis 2:7, John 1:4, Deuteronomy 30:19, Psalm 127:3, Luke 18:15-17, Matthew 18:6, Ephesians 2:8-10

Fauci Pleaded the Fifth 111 Times. Your Sin Will Find You Out.

Anthony Fauci sat in front of Rand Paul's committee and invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times, refusing to answer questions about his own documented words. The guys dig into what that silence says, and land on a Scripture that applies to every one of us: be sure your sin will find you out. In this episode: Why a federal pardon didn't stop Fauci from pleading the Fifth, and the state lawsuits that may explain itJosh Hawley's push to end bonuses and awards for federal employeesProverbs 22:1 and the reputation Fauci traded awayLuke 12:2-3 and Numbers 32:23: living like Jesus is wearing a body camThe guys share their own Covid stories, including losses in their familiesWhen "I don't know" became unacceptable for public officials, and how the founders did it differentlyWhy dissenting experts got shut down instead of brought to the tableCorrelation isn't causation, and how good men get pulled into bad conclusionsA Democrat says something worth hearing, and why we should have ears for itWhat Charlie Kirk understood about sitting down with people who disagreeAaron Rodgers pleads the Fifth at Steelers camp, and ESPN doesn't know what to do with him We can't look to the government for salvation.
