The $2B beauty bias and the excitement trap

If you’ve ever felt the dopamine hit of a working prototype only to realize nobody wants to pay for it, this one is for you. Nicoleta Mocanu is a Systems Engineer. She speaks the language of reliability. But when she entered the AI beauty space, she realized that the excitement of new technology was actually obscuring a massive profit leak: the industry’s $2 billion failure to accurately match makeup, foundation, for melanated skintones. As Nicoleta puts it: The industry works on bad stuff, on old technology, biased technology and it looks totally different. She didn’t just build a better tool; she had to kill her beautiful consumer vision because she realised that building big was actually a trap. We explore why founders must stop being product-first and start being friction-first. The only way to know is by talking to 500+ people a month, and ask yourself: Are you solving a friction point or are you enamoured with your own implementation? Are you hiding in your IDE? Nicoleta’s pivot is a masterclass in Momentum Protection, the uncomfortable process of killing your beautiful vision to find the one customer who will actually give you money. Find one problem for one customer that is going to go and give you feedback, and give you money. The midnight bottleneck & navigating operational friction with Bryan Mills

Let me ask you this - do you treat AI as a "feature" to add to your existing builds? Well, Bryan Mills did - the opposite. After hitting a capacity cliff where he couldn't even choose what to have for dinner despite running a successful agency, he ended up taking a step back and wipe the whiteboard clean. This episode is the diagnostic of how he moved from a 40-hour grinder to a 4-hour governor week. The diagnosis will look at 4 corners, the high-friction zones of business. If momentum is leaking, it's within one of these: ▶ Marketing: Are you chasing leads or being pulled in? ▶ Operations: If your system just a list of tasks for you to double-check all the time? ▶ Sales: Is the friction in the pitch, or the follow up? ▶ Fulfilment: Are you automating the results, or the mess? The hardened logic we'll dig into: The 27 step leak: Bryan found 25 steps in his onboarding that were purely noise and a lot of chasing. He killed them all. The manual trigger trap: If a human has to always click "start" for the AI to work, it’s not a system; it’s a digital leash that will come undone one day. Bryan’s Ecosystem: The Step Back System - Free workshop YouTube: Bryan Mills - Passive Buddies Instagram: @BryanMillsOnline LinkedIn: @BryanMills The AI & Automation Stack: GoHighLevel (GHL): The core engine for business logic and built-in AI responses. Make.com: Used for advanced, multi-step "Logic Workflows" where Zapier fails. Lovable.app: The platform Bryan uses to build "Micro-SaaS" dashboards for client clarity. Closebot.ai: Advanced AI for automating high-stakes DM conversations. Google AI Studio: For raw strategic analysis and YouTube keyword mapping. Claude.ai: Bryan’s preferred model for high-nuance copywriting and logic. n8n.io: The "coder’s" alternative to automation mentioned for deep technical builds. Before the path hardens, before the choice is made, stopping decision debt in this high-stakes trade. Enjoy this episode of the AI Momentum Podcast. Move over SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) has arrived!

For as long as we remember, we've been told that content is kind, and keywords are the currency of the internet. WE've poured billions into a game where rules were written by a Google algorithm that hasn't fundamentally changed since Blackberry was a status symbol. But the game just ended, and we have a new king. In this episode, we talk with Andreas, A mad scientist of the AI Search world, with ChatGPT recognising him as a leader in the US GEO space. With 25 years of digital marketing experience, he don't just predict trends, he build models that define them with Artios.io A man who essentially looked at the internet in 2019, saw the writing on the wall, and decided to build his own LLM, while most of us were probably arguing about meta-descriptions. We discuss the brutal transition from SEO to GEO - Generative Engine Optimization. Mind you, this isn't just just a technical shift. It's a high stakes trade where your old strategy is actively leaking profit. Know that today, if you are still trying to rank instead of trying to be recommended, you aren't just behind. You are INVISIBLE. Key themes in this episode: ► The death of the keyword: Why chasing search volume in 2026 is the strategic equivalent of trying to fix a Tesla with a steam engine ► The 2019 signal: How Andreas identified the momentum leak in traditional digital marketing 3yrs before ChatGPT even existed ►GEO vs SEO: A deep dive into the world of GEO and why answer engines like Claude and ChatGPT care more about user intent than your backlink profile ► The Mad Scientist methodology: Moving beyond the AI Hype to find the human and strategic reality of building an agency that guarantees AI visibility ► Profit leaks and decision debt: Identifying the specific choices founders make today that become permanent, expensive constraints by next quarter AI models discussed in the episode: - Join Valley - ChatGPT - Claude You can connect with Andreas at: Artios.io LinkedIn: Andreas Voniatis Profile Instagram: @andreas_voniatis The Book: Data Driven SEO with Python (Springer, 2022) If you use AI in your work processes, I'd love to have a chat. 4. How to exit the grinder trap: Going from 40h → 4h with Bryan Mills

How to exit the grinder trap: Going from 40h → 4h with Bryan Mills

"I used to treat hard work like a badge of honor... it was actually the complete opposite." This episode of the AI Momentum Podcast features Bryan Mills, creator of the Step Back System who shares his journey from being a burnt-out grinder to a business owner working just 4h/week. The conversation centres on the momentum leak that happens when a founder becomes the bottleneck for every decision, leading to what Bryan calls decision death. We will dissect the moment his decision capacity finally broke with a single, simple question -what's for dinner? We aren't talking about AI trends, we're focusing on the surgical removal of the founder from the daily grind. We will Triage: ► The dinner freeze: The psychological signal that your business has outgrown your brain ► Wiping that whiteboard clean: Why you have to destroy your current momentum to save your future self ► Why linear workflows are the silent killers of scale ► How to build an AI content pipeline that doesn't wait for your permission, the 0% input mornings ►The 4 Corners Framework: A 5min diagnostic to identify your profit leaks The toolkits we discussed: - The Step Back System: Free workshop Core automation & logic stack: - Go High Level (GHL) as his primary, all-in-one platform that is used to manage leads, CRM and automated client interactions - Make.com used for advanced, logic based automations that GHL cannot handle internalls - Lovable.dev to build custom micro-SaaS dashboards for himself and clients AI models & specialised systems: - ChatGPT: Used as a foundational AI engline for processing data and generating triggers - Claude: His preferred AI model for high-nuance copywriting and sophisticated logics - Closebot.ai: To automate complex direct conversations Communication & legacy tools: - Slack was his primary source of noise and constant fires that contributed to his burnout - He was a ClickFunnels fanboy before switching to GHL for better automation - Used Zapier before transitioning over to make.com for more complex, non-linear workflows - Active campaigns is a legacy tool he used for email marketing before consolidating his stack - n8n.io was a more technical, coder-friendly alternative to make.com Connect with Bryan on: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BryanMillsPassiveBuddies Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bryanmillsonline/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bryan-mills-067a2950/ If you use AI in your work processes, I'd love to have a chat. Why most MVPs fail

Your startup is bleeding, and you're arguing over the colour of the bandages? Most founders are treating their MVPs like a sacred relic, but vibe coded MVPs are not bulletproof. They're just very (very!) expensive, heavy anchors. In this episode of The AI Momentum Podcast™ with Moshe Mikanovsky, we will perform a visceral autopsy on the 2018 wave. Moshe has been in the Product war room for 3.5 decades and while the rest of the world was excited about emojis, Moshe was at a YC backed Legal Tech startup building NLP systems that eventually hit a wall built on decision debt. In-depth diagnostics: ▶ The YC ghost How Moshe saw the first mover advantage turn into a target for industry giants ▶ The LMS scam Why Moshe looked at production-ready softwares and realised it was actually a cage, and why he built his own in 48h instead ▶ Late adopter energy Why 35years experience can make you skeptical of the hype train, and obsessed with the signal. ▶ The reality If your AI just helps you fail at 10x the speed, you don't have a strategy, you have a catastrophe. The modular Triage stack a.k.a, the tools we'll dissect: The Brain: Perplexity for deep research without the fluff The skeleton: base44 for prototypes The UI: v0 & Goolge Stitch for rapid generative layouts The logic: Claude & ChatGPT to stress-test the product's soul The community: Skool for flexible traction over rigid LMS Connect with Moshe: LinkedIn: Moshe Mikanovsky Course: Build your MVP The community: Product Traction Accelerator (Skool) Podcasts: - Products for Good - Product for Products Author of book: The Resurrector Sign up to newsletter: Product Tips for Startup Founders Connect with AI Momentum™ Your product is bleeding?
