POP-UP EPISODE || DEAR MEN: How You Can Do The Right Thing Right Now

Hi Hi Hi I'm so glad you're here! This POP-UP episode was recorded especially for the men who want to do the right thing right now. To my Sisters - You can listen and take notes or just share the link to men in your life and ask them to listen. I speak to them directly and edited it down to 30 minutes. This episode is 101 level teaching and probably best suited for white-hetero-cis men who tend to have the widest blindspots and knowledge gaps (yes, I blame Patriarchy for this too), but there are probably nuggets in here for anyone.  Dear men - I am a life coach, mentor and counselor who has worked with women for 22 years and studied patriarchy intensively for over 10 years. I made this podcast because we need you. You are still reading this, so I assume you are open to learning. That's a beautiful thing!  If you appreciate that I took the time to teach and advise you through this channel (when I really wanted to be at the silent sauna where I usually go on Friday afternoons) you can signal that appreciation through a financial payment of any amount. My Venmo handle is @meganjowilson.  This may be confronting or uncomfortable for you and that's okay! I've been there and I know you can handle it and I promise you'll be so glad you did. The way out is through.  xoxo  MJ  Here are the highlights I'll start with advice for Men right now: Do not lean on women to process these issues unless given explicit permission. Research and educate yourself independently - or with other men - through books, articles, and podcasts and by training the algorithms on your social media accounts.  Commit to doing this research at your own pace forever.  Notice and interrupt misogynistic thoughts inside of yourself. Notice and interrupt misogynistic behavior from oteher men. Recognize invisible and unpaid labor performed by women and step in to lighten the load without asking "What can I do?"  Understand that "not all men" is an unhelpful defense that centers male feelings and signals that you are okay with the MANY other men who are assaulting, degrading, raping, and killing women (Black, brown and trans Women especially) and have been for centuries.  Core themes: Patriarchy and misogyny - How these systems harm both women and men. Violence against women - Including sexual assault, rape, death and systemic abuse. The Epstein Files - Recent revelations about powerful people involved in child exploitation and trafficking and the impact it's having on women and those who have been sexually assaulted.  Women's rage, grief, annoyance and exhaustion - The emotional toll of living under patriarchal systems. Men's responsibility - Misogyny is a man problem just as White Supremacy is a white-people problem. Without your participation, it will not end.  The current political administration and its threats to women's rights. The men's loneliness epidemic and why women are dating and marrying less and expecting something bigger than financial stability from men.  The importance of men confronting other men about sexist behavior. The many ways that Women have to be cautious with all men until you show with your words and actions that you are a safe harbor.  It is my deep prayer that this enlightens and inspires you to do the right thing.  Follow me on Instagram HERE to get your algorithmic shift started! I share many accounts every week that will change your life.  Go to meganjowilson.com to learn more about the work I do and know that I am in your corner.

She reveals how daunting it was to write a second novel in the wake of the success and the criticism of her smash debut hit The Help. The book sold over fifteen million copies, rose to number one and was on the best-seller list for more than two years. In 2011 it became a hit movie garnering four Oscar nominations and an Oscar win for Octavia Spencer as Best Supporting Actress. In The Calamity Club Kathryn shifts her perspective and writes a coming-of-age story set in the Depression era South about its two main characters Birdie and Meg. Kathryn explains how the cast of characters live inside her and yearn for expression through her written word. She shares her desire to tackle shocking challenges that women faced during that time. SEASON ONE || EPISODE 10: How to Revolutionize your Resolutions in 2026: And Why You Don't Need a New Year To Change Your Life

There is something beautiful to locate in the idea that we can all commit to change. To doing better. That we can reinvent ourselves.  AND.  There's just something about that Calendar Year change that ignites our inner Patriarchal Perfectionist to hammer ourselves into a Self-Improvement plan that will truly stick - that will truly make us happy at last!  We call them "New Years Resolutions" and they are typically a short list of b******t that never sticks anyway which is exactly what the Patriarchy wants.  In this episode, I'm going to break it down and give you the path to Revolutionized Resolutions that you can return to at any time of the year!  Some highlights:  The important distinction between Goals and Desires - and how to define them both as you F**k up The Patriarchy in your own unique way.  How America's 2026 New Years Resolutions are the same self-absorbed nonsense they've always been. Why you need to get at the root of your Desires instead of trying to fix and conform yourself. My "F**k The Patriarchy" edits to the most common resolutions (Lose weight, Save money, Reduce stress at work... you know the ones).  Why setting unattainable Goals and limp Desires serves the Patriarchy every time.  And why you never ever need a calendar date to reinvent yourself and be and do better for yourself and your world.  It's never too late and I'd love to help you with that journey.  To inquire about working with me privately, click HERE.  You can also read my chapter on how Women get all f****d up around their Desires by downloading my book, "No More Playing Small" right HERE.  You're doing great.  Don't let the Bastards grind you down!  xoxo  MJ

SEASON ONE || EPISODE 8: Required Reading: "The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone..." by Heather McGhee

"But what will I have to give up if everyone gets what they need?!" If you have ever noticed this question swirling in your space when you hear about programs, incentives or legislation to support historically undervalued and oppressed communities... This episode is for you.  "The Sum of Us" by Heather McGhee is a highly-researched and astounding exploration of "What Racism Costs Everyone" (yes even white folks). NOT just spiritually, emotionally and morally, but financially. Required Reading for anyone who wants to F**k Up The Patriarchy! Tune in to the episode to hear: How "Zero Sum Thinking" is impacting everything you think you know about equity and the economy.  How the wealthy few have protected themselves by pitting the masses against each other since the founding of America.  Why white people vote against government programs designed to diminish the harm of poverty, and support racist leadership - even to their own detriment.  How racist propaganda is consciously created to fuel Dominant Narrative Lies about black people ("welfare abusers) and non-white immigrants ("The enemy within") in order to keep the mulit-racial majority poor and powerless while making the rich richer.  The history you were never taught about public pools across America that were drained and paved over when white communities decided they would rather have no pool at all than to share it with Black folks.  Why we need to see and name these patterns so that we can free ourselves from them and F**k Up The Patriarchy.  I love this line from the author bio in the back of the book: "Heather McGhee designs and promotes solutions to inequality in America." Period.  Go to her website https://heathermcghee.com/ to learn more and get your own copy of "The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together". (There's even a Young-readers edition! Plus a 3-minute animated summary for kids on YouTube. Watch it HERE.) In this episode I also mention The Working Families Party "a multiracial party that fights for workers over bosses and people over the powerful." I'm a dues-paying member of this party and recommend that you learn more about WFP right HERE.  Heather McGhee is not associated with this movement as far as I know but it's my podcast and it's relevant to the subject at hand.  Enjoy and don't let the Bastards grind you down!  xoxo  MJ  To learn more about my work and how we can join forces to F**k Up The Patriarchy together - go to my website where you'll find my books, workshops, worksheets and online courses ranging from $0.00 - $495. www.meganjowilson.com To inquire about Private Coaching & Mentoring with me, click HERE.
