8 families. One block. Kids under 12 rule the streets. My house benefits from their visits. We make art, music, meals, start small fires in the yard, break things, create things, and occasionally, we have chats. The Stanley Pod will hopefully capture some of these moments.. Preserving precious times in audio is a labor of love for me. These young people are philosophers in their own right. It feels good to be around them.

    He's not yet 4 years old, but Jack pack a punch and a hug all at the same time. He loves baseball as much as he loves kumquats. They both require examination followed by enthusiastic explanation. Those of us who live near Jack get to have a front row seat in the Stanley Stadium that is his gorgeous life.

    It's mid April 2026. Spring is in the air. Charles has explored this earth for 7 years and everyday he uncovers something new in the world around him -- or he just mines it from his own imagination. His artwork is delicate even when he uses metal sharp objects that tower off the paper. And there's the grubs that just seem to appear, like they have been looking for him just as much as he's been looking for them.

    Lulu is a chef. At 7 ish years old, she has fed the kings and queens of Stanley ave. Mostly salad and some baked good with lots and lots of frosting. We recorded this while she was making salad, a thing she does after a long day at work. Maybe you'll learn some tips and tricks. Please excuse any moments when words were spoken with audible crunching sounds. It's an etiquette hazard of the job.

    James, March 12th, 2026. He's in the art room in the back of my house. Snoop is with us. He's a dog that visits with me sometimes. His breathing may catch your ear, as much as the tinkering sounds of what ever James is working on, Our conversation is led my some of my questions. That's not usually the case, but recording us together is a new thing. I'm grateful James is open to this.
