Amy & Isaac Post House Site = Address: 50 N. Plymouth Avenue / southeast corner of N. Plymouth Ave. & Church St., Rochester, NY 14614 Look for the historic marker near the corner. The Posts were friends and supporters of the Fox Sisters, and their home became important to early Spiritualism as well as abolition and reform movements. 2. Corinthian Hall Site = Address: 16 E. Main Street, Rochester, NY 14614 The historic marker is near the original Corinthian Hall site. The Fox Sisters appeared here during the important 1849 public demonstrations that helped spread Spiritualism. 3. Troup Street / Fox Sisters Area = Address: Troup Street near S. Plymouth Avenue, Rochester, NY 14608 Drive along Troup Street toward Plymouth Avenue. Leah Fox was listed at 31 Troup Street in 1849; after Rochester street renumbering, that location became approximately 111 Troup Street, near Troup and Greenwood. The younger Fox sisters stayed with Leah during their Rochester period. 4. Fox Sisters / Spiritualist Obelisk = Address: 55 Troup Street, just east of S. Plymouth Avenue, Rochester, NY 14608 The 25-foot Spiritualist monument stands in a small space near the southeast corner of Troup Street and Plymouth Avenue. It was dedicated in 1927 and later moved a short distance when highway construction altered the neighborhood. 5. Historic Plymouth Spiritualist Church Site = Address: Northeast corner of S. Plymouth Avenue & Troup Street, Rochester, NY 14608 No original church building remains. The church that later became Plymouth Spiritualist Church stood here and was demolished in the 1950s for highway construction. This stop can be viewed at the same time as the obelisk. 6. Mount Hope Cemetery = Address: 1133 Mt. Hope Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 Finish the tour at Mount Hope Cemetery. Amy and Isaac Post are buried here in Range 2, Lot 121. Allow extra time to explore this large historic cemetery to seek out the graves of Susan B.
