✨ Episode 5 - Whose Image Are You Reflecting? Integrity, Identity & Missing the Mark:

Hello beautiful ❤️  Have you ever felt like you've failed, questioned your purpose, or wondered whether God could still use you? In this heartfelt episode of Handbags, Hankies & Hallelujah, I, Sian Gissing explores the powerful biblical themes of integrity, identity, boundaries and God's transforming grace. Drawing on Psalm 145, Romans 7, Mark 12 and Matthew 9, I reflect on what it truly means to bear God's image, why Jesus is the perfect example of integrity, and how our greatest setbacks can become God's greatest classrooms. Sharing my own journey of failing my Contract Law module twice before achieving a Distinction, I compares the Christian life to an apprentice archer learning to aim. Sometimes we miss the mark, but through God's grace, discipline, wisdom and daily surrender, we are refined and shaped to become more like Christ. This week, I  also bring  my legal background into the conversation, exploring how healthy boundaries are much like contract law. Every relationship has terms. Our boundaries communicate what we will and won't accept. Our "yes" represents what we freely agree to. Our "no" is not rejection, it is a healthy boundary, and one that can be spoken without guilt, fear or shame. Just as not every contract should be accepted, not every request, opinion or expectation should be accepted either. Together we'll also take a deeper look at the biblical meaning of sin. Rather than simply seeing sin as wrongdoing, we'll explore the Greek word hamartia, meaning "to miss the mark," and how understanding this can transform the way we view failure, growth, discipleship and God's grace. In this episode we explore: 🤍 What it means to be created in the image of God. 🎯 The biblical meaning of sin — hamartia ("to miss the mark"). ⚖️ What contract law can teach us about healthy boundaries. 🤍 Why your "yes" should be yes and your "no" should be no. ⚔️ How discernment protects our peace and strengthens our relationships. 📖 Lessons from Psalm 145, Romans 7, Mark 12 and Matthew 9. ☕ The SIANISM Defrost — Meet with God before you meet the world. 🌿 How integrity, wisdom and daily surrender help us reflect Jesus more clearly. Whether you're navigating relationships, rebuilding your confidence, learning to set healthy boundaries, or simply longing for peace in a chaotic world, this episode is an invitation to slow down, reflect and remember that God's grace meets us exactly where we are. Remember... 🤍 You are valued. 🤍 You are seen. 🤍 You are heard. 🤍 And you are deeply loved by God. ✨ Episode 4 | Calm Over Chaos: Stewardship, Consent & The Courage to Pause

In a world that constantly asks me to hurry, decide, perform and please, I’ve often wondered, what if the most powerful thing I could do was simply... pause? In this heartfelt episode, I explore the deeper meaning of consent, discernment, stewardship and the courage it takes to listen to the quiet wisdom within myself before saying "yes." Drawing upon my background in law, business, motherhood, psychology and faith, I gently unpack the Latin origins of the word consent (consentire – "to feel together"), exploring how legal principles, biblical wisdom and lived experience all point towards one profound truth: A truthful yes can only come from an aligned heart. Together we explore: • The difference between consent and compliance• Why people-pleasing often disconnects us from ourselves• How legal principles surrounding informed consent can teach us about everyday relationships• The biblical themes of free will, invitation and discernment• Why stillness is often where wisdom is found• The importance of consideration, compassion and truly listening before responding• How to recognise when we're saying "yes" to keep others comfortable whilst abandoning ourselves• Why calm is not weakness, but a courageous act of stewardship This episode isn't about telling you what to believe. It's an invitation to slow down. To reflect. To question. To pray. To discern. To trust yourself enough to hear your own voice. As always, take what resonates and leave what does not. If this conversation speaks to your heart, I would love for you to share it with someone who may need a little more calm in a world full of chaos. Until next time... Choose calm over chaos.Choose discernment over urgency.Choose presence over performance.Choose connection over control. With love, Sian Gissing "The world has enough noise. Perhaps what we're truly longing for is a place where we can hear ourselves again." ✨ Episode 3: Letting Go of the Fight

Have you ever found yourself exhausted from fighting  in a courtroom, a custody battle, a financial dispute — and wondered when it will ever end? In this episode Sian Gissing speaks honestly about the emotional and physical cost of prolonged conflict, what the legal system can and cannot give you, and what she found when she finally stopped fighting and started surrendering. Drawing on her own lived experience and three powerful Bible verses, Sian explores: — Why our nervous systems were never designed to sustain prolonged conflict — What courtrooms cannot give you no matter the outcome — The physical practice of release — stone casting, screaming, letting the body process what the mind has been holding — The turning point from fighting to building — What the Proverbs 31 woman teaches us about strength that comes from within Scriptures referenced: Psalm 55:22, Psalm 46:10, Proverbs 31:25 Links mentioned in this episode: 📖 How to Stop Carrying What God Never Asked You to Hold — https://linktr.ee/siangissing 🛍️ Full Faith Collection — linktr.ee/siangissing Take what resonates, leave what doesn't. ✨ Episode 2: Empty to Be Filled: Letting Go This Holy Week

In this Holy Week reflection, we step into something deeper than remembrance…  we step into surrender. This is for the woman who is ready to stop holding on…  and start becoming. The woman who is ready to trust God more deeply…  to walk in alignment…  and to step into the life she is being called to.
