Why It's So Hard to Break Unhealthy Patterns Even When You Recognize Them

In this episode Lisa and Laurea discuss the subconscious mind and how it differs from the unconscious mind comparing the mind to an iceberg and describe the subconscious as just below awareness and the unconscious as more deeply hidden. They talk about what each part holds and how it functions. Laurea explains the subconscious contains memories, habits, and learned skills, while the unconscious holds repressed desires, instincts, and forgotten traumas. She further explains how these layers can guide daily decisions, automatic behaviors, and hidden reactions. Then they focus on the subconscious as a gatekeeper in healing work and explain that it can protect us from things we are not ready to access, but that this protection does not always serve us. They discuss triggers, fears, phobias, and relationship reactivity as examples of patterns that may be difficult to trace. Lisa and Laurea also talk about readiness and consent in healing practices. They explain that no one can be forced into this work and that some modalities require willingness and openness to be effective. Both give examples from belief work and Reiki, including moments when connection is blocked or when a client is skeptical. Finally, they discuss safety, pacing, and the role of the practitioner, explaining that change happens at the speed of safety and that it helps to create a calm, nonjudgmental space. Lisa also connects this to yoga, describing it as a moving meditation that can open energy channels and sometimes bring up emotion or insight. What is My Body Trying to Tell Me with Faysal Abi

In this episode, Lisa and Laurea speak with Faysal Abi, a multidisciplinary bodyworker, yoga teacher, posture specialist, and founder of Stretch360 and Body Alignment and Optimization. He shares how his work focuses on helping people move better, reduce pain, and reconnect with their bodies. They discuss his personal recovery after a car accident left him with a broken neck and traumatic brain injury. He explains how pain, depression, and repeated medical visits led him to study posture, bodywork, massage, exercise therapy, and yoga more deeply, eventually using those tools to support his own healing and later to help others. They also talk about his view that the body already knows how to heal when obstacles are reduced. As well he describes how posture, breathing, movement, diet, relationships, and thought patterns can all affect physical and emotional well-being, and he emphasizes meeting people where they are rather than forcing a single approach. They explore how Faysal works with clients, including his eight-week program, his focus on retraining the brain through movement, and his practical way of looking for root causes of pain. He shares examples of working with neck pain, low back issues, and acute back problems, and he explains why he often chooses not to work with someone if the timing or mindset does not feel right. Lastly, they also discuss his interest in intuition, emotional processing, and the connection between body and mind. Faysal speaks about working with animals, keeping a grounded approach with clients, and his interest in dream work, which he says he is still studying and not yet ready to teach publicly. Exploring Triggers and Nervous System Through NLP

In this episode Laurea talks with Lisa about her recent work in neuro-linguistic programming, or NLP, and how she has been exploring it over the course of several months of training. They discuss the basic idea behind NLP as a way of understanding how humans take in information, store it unconsciously, and develop patterns that can affect reactions and habits. We talk about the unconscious mind as something that tries to keep us safe, even when its responses are not always helpful. They also focus on how patterns can show up in daily life, such as strong reactions to familiar triggers, anxiety around meetings, or the “Sunday scaries.” Lisa explains that the work often involves noticing a feeling, identifying the state we want instead, and helping the nervous system shift out of the unwanted response. They cover how this process does not always require knowing the exact origin of a pattern. Lisa explains that, depending on the method, the work can begin with the current feeling and let the unconscious mind guide the process, whether the material comes from early life, the womb, or another point on a personal timeline. Laurea and Lisa end by discussing the importance of support, safety, and working with trained help rather than doing deep inner work alone. They emphasize that healing is not linear, that change happens at the speed of safety, and that people do not have to do this work by themselves. Reiki, Angels and Love Consciousness with Lynn Blos

In this episode, Lisa and Laurea speak with Lynn Blos, Reiki master, hypnotherapist and coach as well as the founder of Healed by the Light. They begin with a simple question: what is Reiki? Lynn explains it as universal life force energy and describes it as a practice that quiets the mind and supports peace, balance, gratitude, and healing. She also outlines the history of Reiki and says it is both an energy method and a way of living. They compare Usui Reiki and Angelic Reiki and Lynn describes Usui Reiki as grounding and traditional, with symbols used for stuck energy and distance healing. She explains Angelic Reiki as connecting to angelic energy, and says she often combines both approaches depending on the session and the client. A major part of the conversation focuses on angels and intuition. Lynn shares that she has worked with angels since childhood and says she learned early to ask for their help. They discuss how she and Lisa use angelic guidance in sessions, how people can feel the presence of that energy, and how calling in help can strengthen trust in intuition. Also discussed is connecting to the higher self. Lynn describes a daily practice of grounding, meditating, asking questions, and journaling. She says she now spends more of her work helping others connect to their own higher self through hypnosis and guided sessions. A Little Thing We Like to Call... Consent

In this episode Lisa and Laurea discuss consent as it relates to energy work, physical touch, and spiritual practices and begin by asking whether energy should ever be sent to someone without permission, and agree that consent is essential. The ladies talk about examples from yoga, Reiki, and other healing settings, including adjustments or interventions that can feel invasive when they are done without asking. They also share personal experiences of receiving work without consent and how unsettling that felt. Laurea then extends the conversation to animals, babies, children, and people who cannot consent directly, such as someone in a coma. In those cases, she suggests asking permission from caregivers and from the person’s higher self or subconscious, and both note that they do this before offering any healing or communication. They also discuss mediumship and spontaneous messages from spirit or animals and say that when information comes through unexpectedly, you still need to be careful about whether and how to share it, and first ask the living person whether they want to receive it. Another topic is working with someone’s subconscious during energy sessions and checking whether a person actually needs help at that time, and Laurea shares an example where the subconscious indicated that no further work was needed and the body was already processing what it needed to process. Lisa brings up the topic of using energy in spaces or situations, such as cars, conversations, or yoga classes, to support clear communication or safety and they close by emphasizing personal space and the importance of asking before touching anyone, including in medical settings. Sacred Shamanism with Valarie Zuvuya

Lisa and Laurea speak with Valarie Zavuya, who has more than 25 years of experience in shamanic energy healing, mediumship, past life work, herbal medicine, Reiki, and related practices. They discuss her background, the range of certifications and trainings she has completed, and how she came to this work through early experiences with spirit communication and past life readings. The trio discuss what a shaman is, how different shamanic traditions vary around the world, and the common themes Valarie sees across them, including compassion, sacred space, and helping clients release pain. She also describes her work with Lakota teachings, pipe carrying, sweat lodges, and other Native traditions, as well as her approach of working carefully and respectfully. They explore the kinds of clients who seek Valarie's help and the issues they bring to her, including spiritual distress, ancestral patterns, curses, hexes, and soul fragmentation. Valarie explains how she approaches these situations through present-moment work, remote sessions, and what she describes as ancestral healing that can affect both the client and family lines across time.
