    Somerset County: Flight 93, Mountain Escapes & Maple Country

    Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, Somerset County, Pennsylvania remains forever connected to the story of Flight 93. In this episode of Tonight's Destination with The Fun Chasers, we’re joined by Eric Knopsnyder, Director of Public Relations and Community Outreach for GO Laurel Highlands, to explore the history, resilience and experiences that make Somerset County such a unique Pennsylvania destination. We begin with the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, reflecting on the significance of the 25th anniversary of September 11 and how the story of Flight 93 continues to be shared with new generations. We also visit another remarkable chapter in Somerset County history: the Quecreek Mine Rescue, where nine miners were trapped underground in 2002 and, after an extraordinary rescue effort, all nine came home alive. But those stories are only part of Somerset County.
