    Let’s Heal Together with Jeremiah Gibson

    In this episode of the Post Evangelical Collective Podcast, we are delighted to welcome Jeremiah Gibson, co-founder of Let’s Heal Together, a counseling practice dedicated to helping individuals and couples heal from the impact of high-control religious environments. Jeremiah specializes in relationship and sex therapy, with a particular focus on those navigating faith deconstruction, religious trauma, and the challenges of rebuilding healthy intimacy after leaving restrictive spiritual communities. Jeremiah is also widely known as the co-host of the Sexvangelicals podcast, which he created alongside his colleague and co-founder Julia Postema. Together, they offered what they described as “the sex education the church didn’t want you to have,” helping thousands of listeners untangle harmful teachings about sexuality, relationships, purity culture, and faith.     We had the gift of talking with Dr. David Gushee, Distinguished University Professor of Christian Ethics, at Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology. We explore the growing reality many leaders face after leaving evangelical systems, including the loss of networks, denominations, and long-held partnerships, while still carrying a deep sense of calling. Dr. Gushee speaks to this cultural moment with both clarity and hope. As more exvangelicals search for a place to land, the question is not only what they are leaving behind, but where they are being called next.
