    S1E1 - Jonathan Nobrega

In this episode, Amelia and Louis speak with Jonathan Nobrega, Roehampton graduate and Youth Project Coordinator at the London Wildlife Trust, about engaging young people from underrepresented backgrounds in the sustainability sector.  Jonathan reflects on his journey from studying Environmental Humanities at Roehampton to leading sustainability initiatives as Events and Sustainability Project Coordinator at Southlands College, and how those experiences shaped his path into environmental work. We revisit his presentation at the London Student Sustainability Conference and explore what he has been working on since.  The conversation focuses on the importance of making environmental careers more accessible, building young people’s confidence and connection to nature, and creating opportunities for a wider range of voices in the sustainability sector.     Guest  Jonathan Nobrega  MA Environmental Humanities (Cultural Heritage), University of Roehampton  Former Events and Sustainability Project Coordinator, Southlands College  Youth Project Coordinator, London Wildlife Trust    Links  London Wildlife Trust – London Wildlife Trust | London Wildlife Trust    University Sustainability – Sustainability at University of Roehampton | University of Roehampton, London    Credits  Hosts: Amelia Iswariah and Louis Wright  Guest: Jonathan Nobrega  Sound Director and Editor: Will Berard  Music and electroacoustic composition by Benoît André, PhD researcher in Roehampton's School of Arts  The Roey Sustainability Cafe is a presentation of the University of Roehampton's sustainability team. 2. Episode 3

    S1E3 - Gabor Sarlos

In this episode, Amelia and Louis speak with Dr Gabor Sarlos, Associate Professor and Head of Employability, about why climate concern doesn’t always turn into action.  From personal connections with nature to student attitudes towards sustainability, the conversation explores what motivates change and what holds people back. We discuss why other issues can feel more immediate than ‘distant’ climate targets, how students’ views are evolving, and how practical tools such as Climate Fresk help turn awareness into action.  Gabor also shares insights from his podcast Ready, Steady, Green: Acting on Sustainability, and reflects on how education and employability can help bridge the gap between concern and action. Although not mentioned in the recording, Gabor also founded Copmitment, a project featuring 52 short video discussions on climate-positive actions individuals can take.  Guest  Dr Gabor Sarlos  Associate Professor, Faculty of Business and Law  Head of Employability  Climate Fresk Facilitator  Host of Ready, Steady, Green: Acting on Sustainability  Links  Ready, Steady, Green Podcast – https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/ready-steady-green/id1853439524?i=1000745923015  Climate Fresk – Climate Fresk (world) - Climate Fresk  University Sustainability Sustainability at University of Roehampton | University of Roehampton, London  Copmitment: https://copmitment.com/actions  The Roey Sustainability Cafe is a presentation of the University of Roehampton's sustainability team.
