    God Is Infinitely Loyal to You | Conversation Starters 05

    Truth you don't live by isn't really truth, it's just information. If God is good, generous, and a perfect father, but you don't act like it's true, it doesn't matter.  Today's idea: God is infinitely loyal. Not mostly loyal. Not loyal when you've earned it. Infinitely, permanently loyal — never against you, always for you, every second, for all eternity.  Action item: Set alarms for 10am, 4pm, and 8pm. At each one, say: "Lord God, thank you that you are a perfect father who is always infinitely loyal to me." Before bed, reflect on how your words led your heart.

    We Serve A Generous God | Conversation Starters 04

    Everything is a gift. The next breath, the chair you're sitting in, the red light that made you three minutes late. When you start tracing the chain of provision behind any ordinary thing, you find a thousand hands, and God behind it all. Most people move through the day cataloging what's wrong. But the secret is to see the events of your life as good gifts, and then you start building something rare — a consuming sense of gratitude. Grateful people are the most extraordinary people in the world.  Action item: Set alarms for 10am, 4pm, and 8pm. At each one, pray: "God, you're so generous. Thank you for ____." Pick something different each time. Before bed, notice how your words led your heart.

    God Makes No Mistakes | Conversation Starters 03

    When life is hard, the natural move is to interpret difficulty as evidence that something's gone wrong. But a father who loves his kids doesn't just give them what feels good, He puts them in positions that build them up.  The God described in Romans 11 is infinite in wisdom, inscrutable in judgment, incapable of error and incapable of cruelty to his children. If that's true, then hardship looks different as a believer. And the practical move is to start thanking Him for what He's doing in the hard things, not just the easy ones. Action item: Set alarms for 10am, 4pm, and 8pm. At each one, say: "Lord, thank you that your plans are vastly better for me than mine."

    God Takes Infinite Delight In You | Conversation Starters 02

    The idea we're working with today is this: the most perfect, righteous, infinitely wise being in existence — who hates sin — somehow delights in his children. He doesn't just tolerate us, He delights in us. We'll spend the rest of our lives trying to digest this statement.  The key is identity. When you come to Christ, you become a child of God, and as a child, you're perfect in His sight. Zephaniah 3:17 puts it in almost uncomfortable terms: God rejoicing, exulting, singing over the people he loves. An infinite God, always smiling at you. Action item: Set alarms for 10am, 4pm, and 8pm. At each one, say: "Lord, thank you that you take infinite delight in me as your son/daughter." Before bed, reflect on how that changed things.

    God Is A Real Person | Conversation Starters 01

    Most people picture God as a distant force that started the universe and stepped back. But in fact, God is a real person, with thoughts, feelings, and intentions, made visible through Jesus. And if a perfect father's love is an ocean, the best human father who ever lived doesn't even fill a drop. The more you treat God as a real person you talk to, the more real He becomes to you. Today's episode ends with a simple exercise: three alarms, three short prayers, one question before bed. Small, repeatable, and designed to compound. Today's exercise: Set three alarms — 10am, 4am, 8pm — and at each one, pause for 5-10 seconds and say: "Lord Jesus, thank you that you are a real person and that you are next to me right now." Before bed, ask yourself how that changed your day. This episode kicks off a daily series — short conversation starters meant to shift how present God feels in your everyday life.

    We open our new daily series with a simple premise: talking to God throughout the day — not just quiet time in the morning or night — is what actually changes how the day feels, and grows our relationship with Jesus.  The format: a short daily teaching, an action point (something to say to God at set times during the day), and a nightly reflection on what shifted. Doug has been discipling people in this rhythm for over sixty years, built around the idea from Revelation 3:20 — Jesus knocking, waiting to be let in to the ordinary, active moments of the day, not just the big ones. Our first series is called "Your God Is Much Bigger Than You Think." This episode sets the table for everything that follows.
