Dr. L.'s Healthy Practices' Podcast

Dr. Ivor Livingston

This podcast covers a variety of information concerning healthy practices, including, but not limited to mental health, physical health, self-improvement and personal development. While I will, at times, be the main speaker on the podcast, most of the time the narrator on the podcast will be a team member from my parent organization - StressHealth Solutions International (or SHSI). That said, I am referring to the structure of the podcast as more of a "Narrative Podcast." For the most past, the podcast will consist mainly of a narrative introduced and presented by one of the team members at SHSI, and it will not have or follow the more traditional format of one-on-one interviews. The decision was made by the team that this format allows for greater and more frequent coverage of a variety of health and health related information. You can listen to both present and past podcasts by visiting our website at: drlhealthypracticespodcast.buzzsprout.com. Also, if there is an interest in learning more about informational activities associated with Stress Health Solutions International, please visit our parent website at: StressHealthSolutions.com. As a very important disclaimer, please note that the primary purpose of this podcast is to provide general educational information on health and related subjects. The podcast does not constitute advice or services and all listeners should consult with their medical and other qualified personnel for advice concerning medical and medical related actions and services as needed. Thanks, Dr. Livingston (Dr.L.)

    Six Habits for Overall Wellness

The Power Of Habits Habits are the quiet architects of our lives. While we often credit motivation or big decisions for our progress, it’s actually the small, repeated actions, performed daily that shape who we become. A single choice might feel insignificant in the moment, but when that choice is repeated over days, weeks, and years, it compounds into something powerful. Think about it this way: habits remove the need for constant decision-making. Instead of relying on willpower, which can fluctuate depending on mood or energy, habits create structure and consistency. They turn effort into routine. This is why someone who exercises regularly doesn’t debate whether to work out, they simply do it. The habit carries them forward, even on days when motivation is low. What makes habits truly powerful is their cumulative effect. Small improvements, repeated consistently, lead to remarkable transformation over time. Reading a few pages a day can turn into dozens of books in a year. Saving a small amount regularly can grow into financial stability.  The beauty of habits is that they are within your control. You don’t need a dramatic life overhaul to create change. You just need to start small and stay consistent. Over time, those small actions build momentum, and that momentum builds a life that feels intentional, aligned, and deeply fulfilling. Hope you enjoyed this informative podcast! Seven Ways to Reconnect With Yourself When You Feel Lost.

Reconnecting with yourself when you feel lost means tuning back in to your own thoughts, feelings, values, and needs instead of living on autopilot or only reacting to outside pressure. It is less about becoming a different person and more about becoming clear on who you are now, what matters to you, and what direction feels right.  What it looks like?  It usually starts with quiet self-reflection: slowing down enough to notice what you feel, what drains you, what gives you energy, and what feels out of alignment. It can also mean spending time alone, journaling, meditating, or simply creating space to hear your own inner voice again.  Why people feel lost?  People often feel lost when life gets noisy, stressful, or overly focused on other people’s expectations. Sometimes it also happens because you’ve outgrown an old version of yourself, so the habits, goals, or identity that once fit no longer feel right. Hope you enjoyed this informative podcast!
