    30 | Kaitlyn Arquette: A Mother's Search for Answers

    In 1989, 18-year-old Kaitlyn Arquette was shot while driving through Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her murder devastated her family, especially her mother, Lois Duncan, the bestselling suspense author behind I Know What You Did Last Summer. Lois had spent her career writing fictional mysteries, but nothing could have prepared her for the real-life mystery surrounding her daughter's death. Convinced there was more to the story than investigators initially believed, Lois began her own relentless search for answers, documenting her investigation in the book Who Killed My Daughter?. What followed was a decades-long pursuit of the truth, filled with unsettling discoveries, competing theories, and questions that refused to go away. This week, Abby tells Kaitlyn's story and explores the extraordinary lengths a mother went to in pursuit of justice. Before we get into the case, we're covering a little bit of everything!     29 | Gladys, Ivy & Pauline: The Women of Melbourne’s Brownout

    In this episode, Ally covers the murders of Gladys Hosking, Ivy McLeod, and Pauline Thompson in Melbourne, Australia, in 1942. With World War II drawing closer, the city had dimmed its streets to make them harder to spot from the air. Then women began turning up dead. When Gladys’s body was discovered in Royal Park, she was the third woman found murdered in just over two weeks. We follow the investigation through wartime Melbourne while getting to know the women whose lives were taken.     27 | Denise Huskins: The Woman Behind the Blindfold

    In this solo episode, Ally covers the story of Denise Huskins, a physical therapist who was taken from Aaron Quinn’s Vallejo home after a terrifying overnight intrusion. When Aaron finally reached police, he described blindfolds, sedatives, recorded instructions, and a ransom demand—but Denise was still missing, and investigators had to decide what, if anything, they believed. As the story grew stranger and national attention descended on the couple, two questions remained: Was Denise alive, and had any of this really happened?     26 | Nicole van den Hurk: A Facebook Confession That Reopened A Murder Case

    In this episode, Ally covers the disappearance and murder of Nicole van den Hurk, a 15-year-old who left her grandmother’s home before dawn on October 6, 1995, to bike to her supermarket job in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. She never arrived. Her bike, her bag, and eventually her body were found in separate locations, leaving investigators to piece together what happened on a ride that should have taken less than 30 minutes. For nearly 16 years, Nicole’s family waited for answers. Then a confession appeared on Facebook, bringing her case back into the headlines.     25 | Betsy Faria: Some Friends Are Worse Than Enemies

    23 | Skylar Neese: Three Friends Went Out, Only Two Came Back

    In this episode, Abby covers the disappearance and murder of Skylar Neese, a 16-year-old from Star City, West Virginia, who slipped out of her bedroom after midnight on July 6, 2012, and climbed into a waiting car. Skylar left behind the things she would have needed if she planned to stay away, making it clear to her parents that she intended to come home. What followed was a months-long search shaped by surveillance footage, conflicting stories, social media posts, and the growing feeling that someone close to Skylar knew more than they were saying. What happened after she got into that car, and how long could the truth stay hidden?
