Ep 028 - why do you always expect the worst?

A slow breath for letting good moments stay: guided breathwork for the habit of waiting for the other shoe to drop. If good moments make you brace for the bad part, Gwen walks through what that waiting really is: a habit of getting ready for a letdown before it happens. She looks at why bracing feels like being realistic, why it never gets proven wrong, and what loosens it, which is letting one small good moment last a little longer. Then she leads a slow breath: a full breath in, a small sip of air on top, and a long sigh out, followed by a quiet minute with one small good thing. This is a relaxation practice, not a treatment for anxiety or any health condition. If worry stays heavy most days or keeps you from daily life, please check in with a doctor or counselor. Please do not listen while driving or doing anything that needs your full attention. In this episode Why a good moment makes you look for the catch. What bracing is, and why it feels like being realistic. Why the habit never gets proven wrong. One small thing to try: ten seconds longer. A slow breath with a long sigh. 🌿 New here? Ep. 027 - why does October feel so heavy? a slow breath for the shorter days

A slow breath for the shorter days: guided breathwork to ease the heaviness of the season and slow down with the light. If October feels heavy, Gwen walks through why: the light fades early, the calendar speeds up, and your body feels both at once. She also looks at why October is the month people start counting up the year, and why that tally only lists what did not happen. Then she leads a slow breath for heavy days: a breath in for four, a soft hold for two, a long breath out for six, and a small lamp of warmth in the chest. This episode is for relaxing and is not a treatment for depression or any health condition. If heaviness lasts for weeks or keeps getting deeper, please check in with a doctor or counselor. Please do not listen while driving or doing anything that needs your full attention. In this episode Why you feel drained when it gets dark at five. Why the season and the calendar pull in opposite directions. Why October is the month you count up the year. Two small ways to ease the week. A slow breath with a lamp in your chest. 🌿 New here? Ep. 026 - can't turn your brain off at night? a cozy night breath for overthinkers

A cozy night breath for overthinkers: guided breathwork to help you slow down, quiet a busy mind at bedtime, and get ready for sleep. If your mind gets loud the moment you lie down, Gwen explains why: the day moved too fast to look at any of it, so everything waited, and bedtime is the first quiet you have had. She also covers why telling yourself to stop thinking never works, and how a mind settles once its thoughts have been put away for the night. Then she guides a long, cozy breath you can do in bed: three thoughts set aside until tomorrow, a slow breath in for four and out for six, and a softening of the jaw, shoulders and hands. This episode is a relaxation practice, not a treatment for insomnia or any sleep or health condition. If sleep trouble is ongoing, please talk with a doctor. Please do not listen while driving or doing anything that needs your full attention, and if you use a candle, blow it out before you sleep. In this episode Why your mind gets loudest at night. Why telling yourself to stop thinking never works. A one-minute way to put your thoughts away for the night. Why the cozy part matters. A long, slow breath for winding down. 🌿 New here? Ep. 025 - how to feel safe in your body when you never have

How to feel safe in your body when you have never felt safe: a guided breath for nervous system regulation, and why your body may never have learned safe. If you can be completely fine on paper and still feel like something bad is about to happen, there is a reason. Gwen explains the difference between feeling safe and being safe, why a nervous system that kept watch for a long time keeps scanning even when nothing is wrong, and why you cannot reason your way into feeling it. Safety is learned through experience, a little at a time, and a body that learned to stay alert can slowly learn the other way. Then Gwen guides a short breath practice with a longer exhale, a hand on your own body, and one true sentence. This episode is education and support, not medical or mental health care. If a breathing practice ever feels overwhelming, open your eyes, feel your feet on the floor, and stop. In this episode Feeling safe versus being safe. Why your body may never have learned safe. Why you feel on edge when nothing is wrong. Why regulation is a practice, not a one-time fix. A short breath practice for settling. 🌿 New here? Ep. 024 - a gentle fall reset to let go without forcing it

A gentle fall reset for letting go without forcing it. If every fall reset video is making you feel more behind, this is the opposite kind. Everywhere you look, a fall reset means do more, new routine, new planner, get your life together. In this episode of The Slow Inhale, Gwen offers the opposite: the season is not asking you to add, it is asking you to release. The trees are not adding this month, they are letting go. She reframes why reset-culture leaves you feeling behind, why the heaviness of fall is unset-down weight from all year, and then guides a gentle releasing breath, open hands, longer exhales, setting one thing down without forcing it. The episode closes with permission to release before you have earned it, four counts in and six counts out. In this episode Why reset-culture leaves you feeling behind. The season models letting go, not adding. The heaviness is weight you never set down. A real reset is a ceremony, not a system. A gentle releasing breath. 🌿 New here? Ep. 023 - you weren't too much. you were unmet.

Guided breathwork for feeling like too much and people-pleasing. If you have always felt like you are too much, this episode offers a reframe that might change how you see every relationship you have ever shrunk inside of. You apologize for texting twice. You dim your feelings. You talk yourself out of your needs so you will not be a burden. In this episode of The Slow Inhale, Gwen offers a different story: you were never too much, you were unmet. Somewhere, someone did not have the capacity to hold you, and instead of admitting their limit, they made it mean something was wrong with you. She unpacks where the belief comes from, the careful nuance the reframe requires, the hidden cost of shrinking, and the braver work of finding the people who have room for the whole you. The episode closes with a gentle breath for taking up your space, four counts in and six counts out. In this episode The message that you were too much. All the ways you shrink. You weren't too much, you were unmet. Who first taught you this. The cost of shrinking. Finding the people with room for the whole you. == 🌿 New here? Ep. 022 - you already know what you want

If you have ever wondered why it is so hard to trust yourself, this episode offers a reframe that might change how you make every decision. You already know what you want. You are just exhausted from talking yourself out of it, asking everyone else first, and pretending the answer is not already there. In this episode of The Slow Inhale, Gwen reframes it: the exhaustion is notfrom not knowing, it is from overriding what you already know. She unpacks where self-doubt is learned, why self-trust is not built from scratch but come back to, why it gets oversold (wisdom is not impulsiveness), and how to starthearing your own knowing again, one small decision at a time. The episode closes with a gentle breath for hearing your own knowing, four counts in and six counts out. In this episode Already knowing but not trusting it. The quiet voice under the noise. Where self-doubt is learned. Wisdom vs. impulse. The cost of overriding yourself. Coming back to trust, one quiet yes at a time.🌿 New here? Ep. 021 - you keep talking yourself out of how you feel

If forcing yourself to stay positive has left you more exhausted than encouraged, this episode explains why. You have gotten so good at talking yourself out of how you feel that you call it being positive, and it is quietly wearing you out. In this episode of The Slow Inhale, Gwen offers a reframe: forced positivity is not optimism, it is self-abandonment with a smile on. Every time you rush past the hard feeling tothe silver lining, you leave yourself alone with the very thing you would not let yourself feel. She unpacks why a felt feeling moves through and leaves while a managed one goes underground and waits, why feeling and drowning areactually opposites, where we learned to perform fine, and the simpler alternative, letting it be true first. The episode closes with a gentle breath for letting a hard feeling be true, four counts in and six counts out. In this episode Talking yourself out of how you feel. Forced positivity as self-abandonment. Why a felt feeling leaves and a managed one waits. Feeling versus drowning. Where we learned to perform fine. Letting it be true first.🌿 New here?
