    21. When High Achievement Meets Motherhood & ADHD

Motherhood can be the moment you realize your “I can handle anything” identity was built on invisible overtime.  In this episode, I talk with therapist and business owner Alyssa Desroches, a neurodivergent mom who supports ADHD and autistic adults, especially high-performing women navigating burnout, identity shifts, and the constant demands of parenting. Alyssa shares what it was like becoming a mom during the COVID era, how anxiety and overwhelm can spike when sleep disappears, and why so many capable women discover ADHD only after motherhood stretches every coping system to its limit.  We dig into the difference between capability and capacity, the hidden work of masking with rigid systems, and what changes when you start naming your needs instead of judging them. We also get practical about EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and nervous system regulation. We talk sensitive nervous systems, how capacity can change day to day, what realistic EMDR timelines look like for single-incident trauma versus complex trauma, and the early stage burnout “superhero mode” that can sneak up on high achievers. If you’ve been searching for ADHD burnout help, EMDR for complex trauma, or strategies for neurodivergent moms, this conversation offers language you can use and options you can explore.  Learn more about Alyssa's work here: https://seedoftruthcounseling.com/ Send us Fan Mail Tap to check out Receive Prosperity Somatic Practice. 20. What If Postpartum Lasts Longer Than You Think

In this episode, I sit down with my good friend, Hallie Mancini to talk sisterhood, new motherhood, postpartum, the protective instincts that flare at family parties, and how intrusive thoughts after birth can be terrifying, and are far more common than most moms feel safe admitting.  We also zoom out to the relationships that change alongside the baby. Female friendships often get quieter in early motherhood, not because the love disappears, but because energy, time, and bandwidth do.  We talk about what support actually looks like when you’re touched-out and running on broken sleep, why handing your baby to a trusted friend can feel like oxygen, and how boundaries around “passing the baby” can be both necessary and emotional.  If you’ve ever felt guilty for taking days to reply or unsure how to ask for help, you’ll feel seen here. Hallie brings her perspective as a doula and new mom, including why postpartum anxiety and postpartum depression are underreported, how stigma shapes what parents share on screening surveys, and what a better system could look like.  She also shares details about Postpartum Together, a Connecticut postpartum support group designed to create real community for moms and babies, with space for honest conversation and practical support. If this resonates, share it with a mom who needs less shame and more support. 19. From Tech Executive To Financial Coach For Working Moms

You can have a great title, a strong salary, and even “flexibility” on paper and still feel like your life isn’t yours.  This is the tension I unpack with Alana D’Angelica, a finance pro and former tech executive who now coaches women on building wealth that translates into real choices at home and at work. We start with Alana’s career path from Morgan Stanley to high-growth tech, then into motherhood and the moments that made her question the tradeoffs.  She shares what changed when she finally had more control of her time, why a layoff can become a launchpad if you’ve built a financial runway, and how she now helps ambitious women get clear on what they actually want their days to look like. From there we get practical. We talk about why women often over-save, how inflation chips away at cash, and what investing in the broad US stock market can do for long-term financial freedom.  We also dig into emergency funds with a smarter lens than one-size-fits-all rules of thumb, plus the unsexy money moves that matter: capturing your 401(k) match, understanding performance and raise cycles, reviewing benefits, and making intentional health insurance choices including HSAs and high deductible plans. If you’re a working mom who wants less hustle and more optionality, this is the episode for you. 16. Resting On Purpose Makes You Stronger

Burnout can look like a motivation problem, but what if it’s actually a rhythm problem?  I sit down with Gigi Hunt, a cycle and flow mentor and registered nurse, to talk about the real connection between the nervous system, hormones, and the menstrual cycle and why so many women feel stuck in overwhelm when they try to live like their energy should be the same every day.  Gigi shares her honest journey through motherhood, postpartum anxiety, and the moment she realized that what started as a weight loss goal was really a call to come back home to her body. From breathwork and meditation to deeper cycle awareness, she explains how self-trust is built through small, repeatable choices instead of willpower and hustle.  We break down cycle syncing using a seasonal framework: inner winter (menstrual), inner spring (follicular), inner summer (ovulation), and inner fall (luteal). You’ll learn what tends to shift in mood, energy, and focus across each phase, how ignoring low-energy cues can fuel dysregulation, and how rest becomes a strategy, not a setback.  If you’ve wondered whether you’re “hormonal,” “lazy,” or even “perimenopausal,” we offer a different lens: hormones are messengers and the nervous system is the conductor, so chronic stress and poor recovery can mimic bigger problems.
