    "It's OK...To Not Be OK" - Pt.1

If we’re being honest...there's two words I think most men have gotten really good at saying: “I’m fine.” Two words. We say them when somebody asks how we’re doing. We say them when someone notices something in our eyes and gets a little too close to what’s really going on. And sometimes, “I’m fine” becomes the quickest way to shut the door before anybody gets inside. We say it when our marriage is struggling. When money is tight. When we’re carrying bad news. When we’re angry, grieving, afraid - or when life just feels heavier than we know how to explain. And somehow, we’ve convinced ourselves that admitting any of that means we’re weak. In this first part of the episode “It’s Ok To Not Be Ok,” let’s explore some of the reasons why men feel so much pressure to keep everything together, why honesty can feel so uncomfortable, and what can happen when we finally stop hiding behind those two familiar words. Psalm 42:11 says: “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” I love the honesty in that verse. The psalmist doesn’t pretend everything is okay. He acknowledges what’s happening inside of him - and then reminds himself where his hope is found. Maybe that’s where this conversation begins for you and me too. Not pretending. Not performing. Just being honest enough to admit when we’re not okay - and trusting that Jesus is still present right there in the middle of it. So today, let’s talk about those two little words, “I’m fine,” why men use them so often, and what God may want to show us when we finally allow ourselves to tell the truth. I’m really glad you’re here for part one of "It's OK...To Not Be...OK!" Let’s dive in.

    "The Wounded Warrior" - Pt.2

If we’re being honest, most of us men like a quick fix. If something’s broken, we want the tool, the answer, the three-step plan - and preferably something we can have wrapped up before lunch. But healing doesn’t always work that way does it? In Part 2 of "The Wounded Warrior", we’re gonna look at some of the parts we tend to skip when we’re trying to move past the pain too quickly. We’ll identify some of the patterns that are easy to fall into, the ways we protect ourselves without even realizing it, and why some of those old reactions keep showing up long after we thought we were done with them. And maybe one of the most important things to remember when we’re dealing with that little guy inside of us is this: We have to stop fighting him. In this episode, we’ll look at some practical ways to stop fighting that wounded little boy—and begin fathering him instead. To give him some of the patience, reassurance, protection, and truth he may have needed all along. Psalm 34:18 says: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” God doesn’t ask us to overpower the wounded places in our story. He invites us to bring them close - to Him. Because sometimes healing doesn’t begin when we finally get tougher. Sometimes it begins when we stop running, stop fighting, and allow God to show us a different way forward. So today, let’s go a little deeper beneath the armor as we continue the conversation about "The Wounded Warrior" - learning how to stop fighting that little guy inside of us and start fathering him instead. I’m really glad you’re here today as we wrap up this series. Let’s dive in.

    "The Wounded Warrior" - Pt.1

If we’re being honest, I think every man carries a story. Some parts are easier to talk about, while others get buried beneath responsibility, toughness, humor, and those familiar words: “I’m fine.” But what happens when the man we’ve become is still carrying the pain of the boy we once were? Who is this little boy—and why does he seem to be living in my chest? In this first of two parts to this next episode, we’re going to explore that wounded warrior inside all of us as we wrestle with the inner child. We’ll talk about what it means to carry wounds that may have shaped us long before we understood them—and how those wounds can still surface through anger, fear, rejection, relationships, or the constant need to prove ourselves. This episode is not about blaming the past for every struggle we face today. It is about recognizing what may still be affecting us, understanding why certain moments hit us so deeply, and beginning an honest conversation about the wounded places beneath the armor. Psalm 147:3 says: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” God is not ashamed of the wounded parts of our story. He meets us there—and He offers the healing we may have spent years trying to find on our own. So today, let’s go beneath the armor as we talk about that wounded warrior inside all of us and discover what God may have for us in this conversation. I’m really glad you’re here for part 1 of..."The Wounded Warrior." Let’s dive in.
