    FlossTube #137 - Tackling Two Very Different Custom Commissions!

    In this fortnight's episode, I'm celebrating a brand-new finish —the utterly adorable "Quilting Fox"— and officially launching my latest in my "Adulting" series; "Deserving Joy" (beautifully test-stitched by Jessica - thank you!). We are also diving into a mountain of WIPs, from a custom forest-floor embroidery design and a Stitch People family commission to the next FlossyFoxShop 'fantasy house', and a hilarious upcoming pattern design called "AI User" that has been living rent-free in my head. Of course, it wouldn't be a proper catch-up without a bit of stash and real life. I'm sharing a new order from 123stitch.com (complete with one fabric colour surprise that didn't *quite* go as hoped) and scheming over what a new household 3D printer might mean for Two Little Kits 😈.     This fortnight, I'm celebrating a gorgeous new finish with FlossyFoxShop's "Winter Fantasy House", now hanging happily beside its autumn sibling, and giving you a sneak peek at "Deserving Joy" — what will be the next self-care piece in my "Adulting" series.     FlossTube #135 - Real Stitches Matter: A Designer Rant on Test Stitching vs AI

    I'm celebrating the release of my brand-new, beginner-friendly pattern, "Find Me" — a cheeky design inspired by the game Meccha Chameleon that is set to become the first in a fun little three-part series 🤞 Of course, there's plenty of stitching progress to share too, from staying on track with "Flower Prairie" (even if I'm eyeing off a colour tweak) and making headway on a secret Christmas stitch for my oldest daughter, to inching closer to the finish line on "Museum After Midnight" just in time for the grand finale release. Naturally, it wouldn't be a proper catch-up without a good old tangent. Alongside a lovely little haul of discontinued fabric and specialty floss, I dive into a candid chat about pattern designing, test stitching, and the rise of AI mockups. I'm a big believer in taking the time to properly stitch what we create rather than churning out endless designs, and I share my thoughts on why real stitches, patience, and transparent quality mean so much to our wonderful maker community.     FlossTube #134 - When You Just Can't Stop Kitting Up New Projects

    Between recovering from a truly god-awful 72-hour bug and celebrating the quiet house now that the kids are officially back at school, my hands have been busy with stitching. We have a finished piece celebration for "Life at the Cottage" —which had a slightly abrupt ending when I chose to skip part 8— along with far too many new starts to feel guilty about. From Elle Noonan's gorgeous new pattern book "Cozy Cottage Cross-Stitch" to an irresistible winter Patreon release, the temptation to kit up new projects definitely took over this fortnight. Sorry not sorry. Behind the scenes, my iPad is getting a workout. I'm sharing early thoughts on a Meccha Chameleon-inspired ("hide and seek" video game) pattern concept, plus a rather nervous, chatty breakdown of my sketches for the potential Dungeon Crawler Carl stitch-along.     It's new FlossTube day! I have plenty of cosy stitching updates and a few big life chats to catch up on this fortnight!     FlossTube #130 - The One Where I Turn 40! (Mishaps, Presents & Stitch-Alongs)

    Grab your current WIP and a cuppa because this fortnight's episode is a bit of a milestone one - I am officially celebrating my 40th birthday [on recording day]! (Which is absolutely bizarre, as I'm pretty sure I was just in my mid-20s last week?) Aside from reflecting on a few wonderful birthday treats (including my recent tattoo and that amazing trip to Stitch-Con in Ohio) I'm also incredibly relieved to share an update on my back. After two solid weeks of throwing me for a loop, I am finally on the mend thanks to a much-needed therapy massage, which means I've actually been able to spend some proper time with my needle and thread again. We have plenty of stitchy updates to dive into today, including progress on my "Life at the Cottage" and "Museum After Midnight" stitch-alongs, a confession about a major signpost mishap on my "Flower Prairie" DIY piece, and a mountain of beautiful confetti stitches on "Cat Dragon House". Plus, I am so incredibly grateful for the amazing response to my latest cross-stitch pattern release, "Carl's Creed" - thank you so much to everyone who has picked up a copy! I'll also be sharing a peek at the new pattern folder system I've recently set up to tame my digital and physical pattern stash, and asking a serious question about book-series pacing. If you've ever deliberately slowed down your reading just to stretch out the joy of a new obsession, please tell me I'm not the only one!
