07: Do You Have Enough Oil? Seed Oils & Spiritual Readiness

In this episode, we explore two kinds of oil that shape our lives: the oils we consume for physical health, and the oil Scripture uses to represent spiritual readiness. We start with the growing conversation around seed oils, what they are, where they show up in the modern food system, and why many people are paying attention to how they may impact inflammation, digestion, and overall wellness. We also look at simple, practical swaps that support a more whole-food, less processed way of eating without fear or extremes. Then we shift to a deeper question: while we’re focused on what we are putting into our bodies, are we paying attention to what is filling our spirit? We walk through the Parable of the Ten Virgins in The Gospel of Matthew 25:1–13, reflecting on what it means to be spiritually prepared, why readiness cannot be borrowed, and how even those who were waiting still needed personal preparation. In this epiosode I talk about: What seed oils are and where they show up in modern diets Why people are questioning their impact on inflammation and health Simple, realistic oil and food swaps The Parable of the Ten Virgins and spiritual readiness What it means to “keep oil in your lamp” in today’s world A reminder to stay awake, grounded, and spiritually prepared It matters what we put into our bodies, but it matters even more that we are filled, awake, and ready spiritually. Guard Your Heart: Anxiety Through the Lens of Chinese Medicine + Faith 💛 Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, wired but exhausted, or stuck in racing thoughts? In today’s episode of Chinese Medicine for Christians, we are talking about anxiety through both a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and biblical lens. Anxiety is not always “just in your head.” Sometimes your body is asking for support. In this episode I break down the most common Chinese Medicine patterns behind anxiety, explore the gut-brain connection and nervous system, share simple nutrition and breathing tips, teach easy acupressure points you can use at home, and speak Scripture over anxiety and overwhelm. You will also hear how the Heart is viewed as the “governor” in Chinese Medicine, and why Proverbs reminds us: “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:23 If anxiety has been weighing on you, this episode will encourage you with practical tools and biblical truth to help support peace in mind, body, and spirit. In This Episode, We Cover: ✨ What anxiety looks like through the lens of Chinese Medicine ✨ The role of the Heart and Shen (spirit/mind) in TCM ✨ Common anxiety patterns in Chinese Medicine ✨ Heart Blood Deficiency and feeling depleted ✨ Heart Yin Deficiency and burnout ✨ Liver Qi Stagnation and stress getting “stuck” ✨ The gut-brain connection and how digestion impacts mood ✨ Nutrition support for anxiety and nervous system health ✨ A simple breathing exercise to calm the nervous system ✨ Acupressure points you can use at home for anxiety and overwhelm ✨ Scriptures to meditate on when fear and anxious thoughts arise Acupressure Points Mentioned in This Episode 🌿 Heart 7 (HT7) – “Shen Men” / Spirit Gate Located on the inside of the wrist crease, on the pinky side. 02: Why Traditional Chinese Medicine Works: My Top 3 Favorite Principles

In this episode of Chinese Medicine for Christians, I share my top three favorite things about Traditional Chinese Medicine and why this ancient approach to healing continues to resonate so deeply today. You’ll learn how TCM views the body as deeply interconnected: body, mind, and spirit,  and why emotional stress, worry, grief, and unresolved emotions can often contribute to physical symptoms and disease patterns. I also explain how physical imbalances can affect emotional health, creating cycles that many women experience without realizing it. This episode also dives into one of the most fascinating parts of Chinese medicine: nutrition and food energetics. Discover how TCM looks beyond calories and nutrients to understand food through temperature, taste, and its effect on the body’s overall balance and healing. Topics covered: The mind-body-spirit connection in Traditional Chinese Medicine How emotions influence physical health Why root-cause healing matters The relationship between stress and chronic symptoms Food energetics in TCM How taste and temperature affect the body A holistic and faith-centered perspective on healing Whether you’re new to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine or simply curious about a more holistic approach to health, this episode offers a practical introduction to the wisdom and beauty of TCM.
