Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1, Episode 11: OXIDATIVE STRESS: THE MASTER CLASS WITH DR. DONDEE NETTLES - PART 2 | Mitochondria, Obesity, Cancer & What You Can Do?

🧬 MASTERCLASS: OXIDATIVE STRESS -  PART 2 In Part 2 of our Oxidative Stress Masterclass, Dr. Donnie Nettles and I take the conversation deeper, looking at what oxidative stress can do at the cellular level and why it may play such an important role in our long-term health. We start with the mitochondria - the structures inside our cells responsible for producing much of the energy our bodies need. What happens when oxidative stress begins damaging mitochondrial function? ATP production can decline. Cellular energy can suffer. And mitochondrial dysfunction has been associated with fatigue, metabolic dysfunction, cardiovascular disease, aging, and many chronic diseases. From there, we explore the connection between oxidative stress, obesity, and our modern food supply including how what we eat can influence inflammation, metabolism, and cellular health. We also discuss a more serious consequence of oxidative damage: DNA damage and genetic mutations, and how accumulated cellular damage can contribute to the processes involved in cancer development. But we didn't want to end the Masterclass by simply talking about what's going wrong. We wanted to talk about what you can actually do about it. So Dr. Nettles and I finish the episode by each sharing 5 things you can start doing TODAY to help reduce oxidative stress and support better overall health. This isn't about chasing one supplement or one treatment. It's about understanding the biology -and then making choices that help your body work the way it was designed to work. ▶️ Watch Masterclass: Oxidative Stress - Part 2 and let us know in the comments which change you're going to start with. Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1, Episode 10: OXIDATIVE STRESS: THE MASTER CLASS WITH DR. DONDEE NETTLES - PART 1 | What Changed Our Health?

🧬 WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR HEALTH? Something changed dramatically over the last 50 years. Obesity increased. Type 2 diabetes increased. Metabolic disease became increasingly common. And today, many people are living longer—but not necessarily living healthier. So what changed? In Part 1 of our Oxidative Stress Master Class, my good friend Dr. Dondee Nettles joins me on Dr. Jeff & Friends to start connecting the dots. We go back to the 1970s and look at the transformation of the American food environment, the growth of ultra-processed foods, and how our changing lifestyles may be affecting our biology. But then we go deeper. 🧬 What exactly is oxidative stress? ⚡ What happens when oxidative stress begins affecting our mitochondria? 🔥 How are oxidative stress and chronic inflammation connected? ⚖️ What is happening metabolically as obesity and insulin resistance develop? 🩸 How can chronically elevated blood sugar damage cells and blood vessels? 🧠 And could some of the diseases we treat as completely separate problems actually share some of the same underlying biological pathways? This is where the conversation gets fascinating. Because maybe we need to spend less time asking only: "What disease do you have?" And start asking: "What is happening to the biology underneath it?" 🎙️ Dr. Jeff & Friends 🧬 OXIDATIVE STRESS: THE MASTER CLASS — PART 1 Featuring Dr. Dondee Nettles Watch the full episode and then share it with someone who needs to hear this conversation. And we're not finished. 👉 PART 2 is coming in two weeks.

Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1, Episode 5: The Science Behind Smarter Supplementation with Dr. Nancy Bryan

What goes into creating a nutritional supplement that is truly backed by science? On this episode of Dr. Jeff & Friends, I'm joined by Dr. Nancy Bryan, former LifeVantage formulator, scientist, and educator, for a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how science-based nutritional products are developed. Rather than simply discussing ingredients, we explore the why behind the formulations and how thoughtful design can influence health, metabolism, and healthy aging. During our conversation we discuss: • Dr. Bryan's role in developing LifeVantage's D+ (Vitamin D+), AM/PM Vitamins, and Prebiotic • Why Vitamin D deficiency remains one of the most common nutritional deficiencies in America—even for people living in sunny climates • The science behind circadian nutrition and why taking specific nutrients in the morning versus the evening may improve how your body utilizes them • The importance of trace minerals such as copper, zinc, iodine, selenium, and molybdenum, and the critical roles they play in metabolism, thyroid health, antioxidant defense, and cellular function • Why balancing nutrients is often more important than simply taking higher doses • The often-overlooked relationship between prebiotics and probiotics, why they work together, and how supporting your microbiome begins by feeding the beneficial bacteria already living in your gut If you've ever wondered why some supplements seem thoughtfully designed while others are simply a collection of ingredients, this conversation provides a rare look inside the science of nutritional formulation. Whether you're interested in healthy aging, metabolism, thyroid health, gut health, or simply making smarter decisions about supplementation, you'll come away with practical insights you can begin applying immediately. Be sure to subscribe to Dr. Jeff & Friends for more conversations with leading physicians, scientists, innovators, and health experts as we explore how to take back control of your health, your wealth, and your destiny. #DrJeffAndFriends #DrNancyBryan #LifeVantage #VitaminD #NutritionScience #SupplementScience #HealthyAging #CircadianRhythm #FunctionalMedicine #GutHealth #Prebiotics #Microbiome #NRF2 #Metabolism #ThyroidHealth #Longevity #HealthOptimization #Wellness #Podcast #ApplePodcasts #SpotifyPodcasts #YouTube

Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1 , Episode 3 "Why Men Are Struggling Younger Than Ever: Testosterone, ED & The Modern Health Crisis"

In this episode of Dr. Jeff & Friends, Dr. Jeff sits down with orthopedic surgeon and men's health specialist Dr. Jack Rocco to discuss one of the biggest health challenges facing men today. Over the past 50 years, men's health has changed dramatically. Conditions that were once common in men in their 60s and 70s—such as low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, and metabolic dysfunction—are now being seen in men in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Together, Dr. Jeff and Dr. Rocco explore: ✅ Why testosterone levels are declining in younger men ✅ The rise of erectile dysfunction at younger ages ✅ How modern diets, obesity, and oxidative stress affect hormones ✅ The impact of pornography and instant access technology on the developing brain ✅ How these issues affect marriages, relationships, confidence, and quality of life ✅ The growing gap between lifespan and healthspan ✅ Hormone replacement therapy, metabolic optimization, and regenerative medicine solutions This is an honest and thought-provoking conversation about what is happening to men today, why it matters, and what can be done about it. Because men's health is about much more than testosterone. It's about energy, vitality, confidence, relationships, and living a longer, healthier life.
