Many of you noticed the silence and reached out through emails and messages asking if Studio Sinister was over. First, thank you. The fact that so many of you checked in honestly means more than I can put into words. The answer is no. Studio Sinister isn't going anywhere. The truth is, after losing my little conure, Theo, I just couldn't bring myself to sit behind this microphone. He wasn't just my bird. He was my shadow. Every time I recorded, he'd be sitting on top of my computer monitor or perched on my laptop, making his little tweets, chirps, and those soft purring sounds conures make. More than once I'd have to stop and rerecord a section because you could hear him talking in the background. Now I'd give anything to hear those interruptions again. The day before Theo passed away, I had been recording another episode. You can hear him throughout it. At first I thought about cleaning up the audio or rerecording those parts, but I can't do it. That recording is one of the last times I have him with me, and right now I need to keep it exactly as it is. I'll rerecord the episode separately for the show, but I'll always keep that original file because it's one of the few places where I can still hear my little buddy. Losing him has hit me harder than I ever imagined. I'm still working through a deep grief and depression, and there were days I simply couldn't bring myself to record. Every time I sat down at my desk, I expected to see him waiting for me like he always was. So thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for giving me the time I needed. I'm back. And we're just getting started. This episode marks my return, and in just a few days I'll also be releasing a brand-new Tales from Channel 13 episode titled Final Preparation.
