    The Long Game Investment

    This message explores the power of personal investment through the life of Timothy, a young leader whose extraordinary impact can be traced back to ordinary people who intentionally invested in him. Paul encouraged, prayed for, mentored, and challenged Timothy, but he also recognized that Timothy’s faith had first been nurtured by his mother Eunice and grandmother Lois. Their seemingly ordinary investment helped prepare Timothy to serve and lead churches through difficult circumstances, ultimately contributing to the spread of the gospel far beyond anything they could have imagined. His story reminds us that God often accomplishes extraordinary things through ordinary relationships and that investment equals impact. This message challenges us to recognize that investing in others doesn’t require a special position, program, or extraordinary ability—it happens one intentional moment at a time. Like individual Lego bricks gradually becoming something much bigger, listening to someone, praying for them, sending an encouraging message, showing kindness, sharing a meal, or simply making someone feel seen can build into an impact we may never fully realize. Whether at home, work, school, church, or in our communities, every relationship provides an opportunity to invest in someone. Ultimately, this message reminds us that people matter, and when we consistently invest our time, attention, encouragement, and faith into others, God can use those ordinary moments to create extraordinary impact.

    Faith, Mustard, And the Lasagna Lady

    This message explores how God consistently does extraordinary things through ordinary people and ordinary acts of faith. Through Peter’s journey, we see that extraordinary faith doesn’t begin with having everything figured out or possessing some enormous amount of faith. Peter experienced incredible moments with Jesus, but he also struggled, failed, acted impulsively, and even denied knowing Him. Yet God still used Peter to make an extraordinary impact. Like Jesus’ illustration of the mustard seed, this message reminds us that faith doesn’t have to start big—it simply needs to be practiced. Extraordinary faith is the result of ordinary, resilient faith repeated through every season, situation, struggle, and success. This message also challenges us not to wait until our faith feels “big enough” before we begin living it out. Faith grows through the small decisions we make every day—spending time in God’s Word, praying, serving others, practicing generosity, caring for ourselves, forgiving, showing kindness, seeking godly wisdom, and managing our time, resources, and relationships in ways that honor God. Like compound interest, these seemingly small mustard-seed moments of faith build upon one another over time and can ultimately make an extraordinary impact, even if that impact is simply changing the life of one person. God has always done extraordinary things through the ordinary, and extraordinary faith is built one ordinary act of obedience at a time.

    The Big Finale | Psalm 150

    This message explores Psalm 150 as the big finale of the Psalms, a closing expression of praise that calls everything with breath to worship the God who gave it life. Repeating the call to praise throughout the psalm, this message challenges us to examine our posture toward worship: do we come ready to praise God, or do we wait for the right song, feeling, or circumstance to put us in the mood? Worship is not a posture we wait for, but a posture we come with. Whether our praise is loud or quiet, its value isn't determined by volume or emotion, but by a heart that recognizes God's mighty deeds, unmatched greatness, and worthiness. This message also encourages us to consider the cause of our praise—the Creator who gave us life, surrounds us with evidence of His greatness, and demonstrated His love by sending Jesus to give us a hope we could never create for ourselves. Praise can become a daily discipline that reshapes how we approach every season, whether life is going well or we are facing disappointment, stress, or uncertainty. Practical habits like beginning and ending each day with “Praise the Lord,” keeping a thank-you list, placing reminders around our homes, or scheduling a “praise pause” can help cultivate that posture. Ultimately, this message reminds us that as long as we have breath, we have a reason to praise: God is worthy, God deserves our worship, and every day can begin and end with praise.

    This message explores Psalm 67 and challenges us to rethink what it means to be blessed by God. Echoing the ancient priestly blessing from Numbers 6, the psalm asks God to be gracious, to bless His people, and to make His face shine upon them—but it immediately reveals the purpose behind that blessing: “so that” His ways and salvation may be known throughout the world. God’s blessings are not simply about receiving the things we want or measuring how much He loves us by our circumstances. Instead, His blessings are purposeful gifts that should lead us to praise Him, recognize Him as the giver, and point others toward Jesus. This message reminds us that we are blessed to be a blessing. A healthy response to God’s blessings is reflected through lives that are loving, serving, generous, gracious, prayerful, faithful, and obedient. Rather than focusing only on what God can give us, we are called to ask how what He has already given us can be used for His glory and the good of others. Whether individually or together as a church, our prayer can confidently be, “God, bless us”—not simply for our own benefit, but so that our generosity, service, encouragement, and love will help more people know and follow Jesus.

    Don't Microwave the Fish | Psalm 120

    This message explores Psalm 120 and asks a practical question: Where do you take your troubles? The psalmist is surrounded by conflict, dishonesty, and people who seem determined to create division, yet instead of hiding his frustration, he honestly brings it before God. The message reminds us that an honest prayer is a good prayer and challenges us to recognize the lies we sometimes believe—not only those told by others, but the ones we tell ourselves through fear, shame, pride, bitterness, and rationalization. Rather than seeking retribution when we’ve been wronged, we’re called to pursue righteousness and respond in ways that display God’s grace. This message also identifies three places we tend to take our troubles: out on others, to the world, or to the Lord. When we bury our struggles, they eventually spill into our relationships, and when we look to the world for relief, its solutions ultimately fail to satisfy. Psalm 120 offers a better way: make prayer our first response rather than our last resort. Taking our troubles to God means actually trusting them to Him, surrendering control, and being willing to follow His direction even when it requires humility, forgiveness, or doing something we don’t want to do. Ultimately, this message challenges us to bring every trouble—big or small—to the Lord, trusting that His way is better and that He wants to help us through what we’re facing.
