The Good Life: What Jesus Actually Means by "Blessed" | Matthew 5:6-8 | The King's Table Ep. 10

What does it actually mean to live "the good life" according to Jesus? In Episode 10 of The King's Table, we dig into Matthew 5:6-8 — three Beatitudes that flip the world's definition of blessing upside down. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." — Matthew 5:6-8 We break down what it practically looks like to:✅ Hunger and thirst for righteousness in a culture that's satisfied with almost anything else✅ Walk in mercy — and what it means to receive the mercy of God in return✅ Guard a pure heart in a world full of distraction and compromise This isn't just Bible theory — we talk through real, everyday steps you can take starting this week to grow in each of these areas, plus what these promises actually mean for your walk with God. 🔑 Topics covered: The Beatitudes, Sermon on the Mount, righteousness, mercy, purity of heart, Kingdom living, discipleship, spiritual growth, Christian podcast 📖 Scripture referenced: Matthew 5:6-8 👑 New episodes every Tuesday. The Secret to the Good Life According to Jesus | The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3–5)

Welcome back to Thee King's Table Podcast—where kings sit, surrender, and submit to the King of Kings. 👑✝️ Pull up a seat to Thee King's Table, where we cast our crowns before the King of all kings. Everyone is searching for the good life. The world tells us it's found in success, wealth, comfort, and chasing your dreams. But in the opening words of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus completely flips that idea upside down. In Episode 9, Samson (@savedsamsino) and Doyin (@adedoyin.oso) begin a new series through The Beatitudes, exploring the first three blessings Jesus gives in Matthew 5:3–5. We discuss what it truly means to be poor in spirit and why recognizing our need for God is where the blessed life begins. We also unpack Jesus' words: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." What kind of mourning was Jesus talking about? Is every kind of sorrow blessed, or is there a godly way to mourn that draws us closer to Him? Finally, we explore why meekness isn't weakness, but strength that has been surrendered to God. In this episode, we discuss: 👑 What Jesus says the good life really is 🙏 Why being poor in spirit is the foundation of the Christian life ❤️ Why we all desperately need God 😢 The difference between godly mourning and worldly sorrow 🤲 How God comforts those who mourn according to His will 🕊️ Why meekness is strength under God's control 📖 How the Beatitudes challenge the world's definition of success Whether you've read the Beatitudes many times or you're hearing them for the first time, we pray this conversation encourages you to pursue the kind of life Jesus calls blessed. Is It God... or Religious Psychosis? How Can You Tell the Difference? 👑🧠

Welcome back to Thee King’s Table Podcast — where kings sit, surrender, and submit to the King of Kings. 👑✝️ Pull up a seat to Thee King’s Table, where we cast our crowns before the King of all kings. In Episode 8, Samson (@savedsamsino) and Doyin (@adedoyin.oso) step into one of the most controversial conversations surrounding Christianity, mental health, and supernatural encounters: Is it really God... or is it religious psychosis? When Christians share testimonies about encountering Jesus, hearing from God, experiencing deliverance, or having their lives supernaturally transformed, one response is becoming increasingly common: “That sounds like religious psychosis.” But what actually is religious psychosis? Does believing that God speaks automatically make someone delusional? Can genuine encounters with God be distinguished from mental illness? And how should Christians defend the supernatural reality of their faith while still acknowledging that mental health conditions are real? In this episode, we explore the line between faith and delusion, spiritual encounters and mental illness, and biblical truth and deception. Through Acts 26, we examine Paul’s radical encounter with Jesus and the transformation that followed. Through 2 Corinthians 4, we discuss spiritual blindness and why not everyone understands or receives the truth of the Gospel. Through Matthew 12, we examine the danger of wrongly attributing the work of God to something else. And through Galatians 5, we ask one of the most important questions when examining any claimed encounter with God: What fruit did it produce? 🍇 In this episode, we discuss: 🧠 What religious psychosis actually means✝️ Religious psychosis vs. a genuine encounter with God🔥 Why Christian testimonies are sometimes dismissed as delusion📖 Paul’s encounter with Jesus in Acts 26👁️ Spiritual blindness and 2 Corinthians 4⚠️ The danger of wrongly dismissing the work of God🍇 Using the fruit of the Spirit to examine spiritual experiences🗣️ Whether God still speaks to people today🤔 How Christians can discern whether an experience is truly from God🛡️ How to defend the Christian faith while showing compassion toward mental health struggles Mental illness is real. But God is real too. So how can we tell the difference? Pull up a seat. Bring your Bible. Bring your questions. There Are 4 Types of Believers — Which One Are You? | The Parable of the Sower

Welcome back to Thee King's Table Podcast — where kings sit, surrender, and submit to the King of Kings. 👑✝️ In Episode 7, Samson (@savedsamsino) and Doyin (@adedoyin.oso) dive into one of Jesus' most powerful and convicting teachings: The Parable of the Sower (The Parable of the Seeds). Jesus teaches that while the same seed is sown, not every heart receives it the same way. The difference isn't the seed—it's the soil. In this episode, we explore the four types of believers represented by the four types of soil and challenge ourselves to ask an important question: What kind of soil am I? We discuss how some believers allow the enemy to steal the Word before it takes root, how others receive it with excitement but fall away when trials come, and how many become choked by the worries, desires, distractions, and deceitfulness of this world. Most importantly, we discuss what it means to become good soil that produces lasting fruit for the Kingdom of God. 🌱 The 4 types of believers Jesus describes 🪨 Why some believers fall away when difficulties arise 🌵 How the cares of life and worldly desires choke spiritual growth ⚠️ The danger of being overly zealous without deep roots 🌿 Identifying the weeds and thorns in your life 💰 How distractions, success, and comfort can pull us away from God ❤️ What it means to have a heart that receives God's Word 🌳 How to become good soil that bears fruit ✝️ Practical steps to remain rooted in Christ This conversation is a heart check for every believer. Whether you're new to the faith or have walked with Christ for years, Jesus' words challenge us to examine what kind of soil we're cultivating. What Does the Bible Say About Pride? | How Pride Destroys Relationships, Marriage & Faith | Thee Kings Table Podcast

Welcome back to Thee King's Table Podcast — where kings sit, surrender, and submit to the King of Kings. 👑✝️ In Episode 6, Samson (@savedsamsino) and Doyin (@adedoyin.oso) dive into one of the most destructive sins in the Christian life: pride. Pride doesn't always look like arrogance. Sometimes it appears as self-reliance, defensiveness, stubbornness, refusing correction, or holding on to our own way instead of God's. It can quietly damage our relationships, weaken our marriages, fuel our attachment to sin, and create distance between us and the Lord. In this episode, we discuss how pride often hides beneath the surface and why it is one of the greatest obstacles to humility, repentance, and spiritual growth. We also explore how pride can turn good things into idols and how choosing our own desires over God's will can slowly pull us away from Him. 👑 What pride actually is according to Scripture 💔 How pride destroys relationships and friendships 💍 The ways pride can damage a marriage ⛓️ Why pride keeps us attached to sin 🪞 Hidden forms of pride many Christians overlook 🏛️ The connection between pride and idolatry 🚪 How pride prevents us from receiving correction ❤️ Why humility is essential for spiritual growth ✝️ How Jesus modeled true humility 🔥 Practical ways to overcome pride and submit to God If you've ever struggled with surrender, correction, forgiveness, or letting go of your own way, this conversation will challenge you to examine your heart and draw closer to Christ. Pull up a seat at the table. 📖 "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." — Proverbs 16:18 (KJV) 📖 "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." — James 4:6 (KJV) 📖 "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." — Philippians 2:3 (KJV) 🎧 New episodes every Tuesday. 🔗 Follow Thee King's Table 📺 YouTube: @TheeKingsTablePodcast📸 Instagram: @theekingstablepodcast🎵 TikTok: @theekingstable✍🏾 Substack: @theekingtable🐦 X: @theekingstablepod 🔗 Connect with the Hosts Samson: @savedsamsinoDoyin: @adedoyin.oso 🛍️ Shop GODFIDENCE Merchandise 👉🏾 theeresurrection.com Walk in Godfidence. God's Strength in our Weakness | Why God Doesn't Always Remove the Thorn (Episode 5)

Welcome back to Thee King's Table Podcast — where kings sit, surrender, and submit to the King of Kings. 👑✝️ In Episode 5, Samson and Doyin tackle one of the greatest paradoxes of the Christian faith: strength through weakness. In a world that celebrates self-sufficiency, achievement, and independence, God often allows us to experience weakness so that we learn to depend on Him. Through the stories of Gideon, Paul's thorn in the flesh, and our own personal experiences, we explore what it truly means to make God our strength when we have none of our own. We discuss how many of us unknowingly place our confidence in careers, relationships, finances, talents, or our own abilities instead of God—and how weakness often exposes where our trust really lies. In this episode, we cover: 💪 What it means to make God your strength in seasons of weakness 🌿 Why God sometimes allows a "thorn in the flesh" to remain 🔥 How boasting in God's strength builds faith and dependence on Him 😔 What to do when you're spiritually exhausted and running on empty ⚔️ Lessons from Gideon's weakness and God's power working through unlikely people 🏠 The danger of finding our security and strength in things other than God 🤲 Why weakness can be one of God's greatest tools to keep us close to Him 🕊️ How to rest in God's grace when you don't feel strong enough This conversation is for anyone who feels tired, overwhelmed, discouraged, or insufficient. If you've been carrying burdens you weren't meant to carry alone, this episode is a reminder that God's strength is most visible when ours runs out.
