EPISODE 13: ART Is Better Than EMDR (Here's Why)

EPISODE 13: I Said It — ART Is Better Than EMDR (Here's Why) 🌸 Millennial Mama Mix: May-cember is behind us, which means it's officially time to make the damn appointments — and actually go to them. Here's why taking care of yourself at a baseline level isn't selfish, plus two hacks for when scheduling feels impossible. 🛋️ Pink Couch Post-Its: A full breakdown of ART Intensives. What Accelerated Resolution Therapy is, why I call it EMDR on steroids, why I package it as a six-hour intensive across four sessions, and exactly who it's built for. 💟 Favorites Folder: Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD — a book my own therapist recommended, written by a home organizer who adapted her best practices for ADHD brains. (Reminder: the Venn diagram of motherhood and ADHD is basically a circle.) 🫶🏻 One Last Thing: Two ways to start working with me — consultation calls if you're ready for clinical work, resourcing calls if you're not sure what you need yet. 🎙️ New episodes weekly. EPISODE 12: Coming Back to Yourself After Becoming a Mom

EPISODE 12: Coming Back to Yourself After Becoming a Mom 🌸 Millennial Mama Mix: May-cember is finally over and I feel like a Munchkin doing a little song and dance about it. The thing that got me through the chaos? My village — specifically all the classroom aunties who showed up for my kid this year. We are not meant to do this alone. 🛋️ Pink Couch Post-Its: I'm starting to feel like myself again, and it reminded me why I named my whole approach the Back to Me Method. The most important relationship you have is the one with yourself. I walk through all four steps of how I get clients back there. 🫶🏻 One Last Thing: Two ways to start working with me — consultation calls if you're ready for therapy, resourcing calls if you just know you need support and aren't sure what kind. EPISODE 11: Death Spirals and Hockey

🌸 Millennial Mama Mix: Lauren opens with something a lot of business owners and moms know well — the death spiral. Last week she skipped the episode because she was deep in one, questioning everything about her practice and her offers. She didn't hit the big red button. She stepped back instead. And this episode is about why that matters, and why forcing something that isn't working is a recipe for resentment — and also why stopping is sometimes how you find something better. 🛋️ Pink Couch Post-Its: Two brand new offers came directly out of that spiral. Resourcing Calls are one-hour, non-clinical, zero-sales-pitch conversations for moms who aren't sure what kind of support they actually need — therapy, coaching, local resources, or something else entirely. ART Intensives are short-term, time-bound packages built around Accelerated Resolution Therapy: one intake, two ART sessions, one integration session, done in four to eight weeks. For moms who need relief faster than talk therapy alone can provide. 💟 Favorites Folder: Lauren is an aspiring hockey girly and this week's folder reflects that fully. The PWHL — Professional Women's Hockey League — is only two years old and a San Jose team was just announced. And Off Campus on Prime is a college hockey ensemble show that handles themes of safety, consent, and emotional maturity beautifully. She is on her second rewatch. Highly recommend. 🫶🏻 One Last Thing: Space is open across all offers. Heads up — all consultation and resourcing calls are moving to Wednesdays starting June 3rd. 🔗 All links in my bio! https://linktr.ee/millennial_mama_therapy New episodes weekly. EPISODE 10: Mother's Day is Complicated.

This week on The Millennial Mama Memo: 🌸 Millennial Mama Mix: This episode drops the day after Mother's Day, and Lauren opens by naming something that doesn't get said enough — that Mother's Day is complicated, and that's okay. From there she gets into matrescence: the developmental life stage of transitioning from being a person to being a person who is also a mother. Like adolescence, it's uncomfortable and disorienting across every dimension of life at once. And like adolescence, it's something you move through — not something that means something is wrong with you. 🛋️ Pink Couch Post-Its: A proper introduction to both support groups. Mama Mess Hall is for any mom, anywhere, at any stage. The Break Room is specifically for moms who are also spaceholders or providers — because it's genuinely hard to just show up as a mom when other participants might recognize you as an expert. Both groups meet Mondays and are free, virtual, and drop-in. 💟 Favorites Folder: Two things for your brain this week. Brick is a physical NFC device that blocks apps on your phone on a set schedule — Lauren used it to go social-media-free all weekend without having to rely on willpower. And the one color coloring book from Still and Slow is exactly what it sounds like: one color per page, tactile and meditative and genuinely restful for an ADHD brain. 🫶🏻 One Last Thing: Consultation calls are open every week for individual therapy, couples therapy, and ART. And the provider partnership opportunity is still available for anyone in the perinatal space who wants to make mental health support more proactive for their patients. 🔗 All links: https://linktr.ee/millennial_mama_therapy New episodes weekly. EPISODE 9: Why May Feels Like December (and what to do about it)

Millennial Mama Memo Episode 9: May-cember Survival Tips, ADHD Tax, and a $12 Toolkit You Need 🌸 Millennial Mama Mix: Lauren opens with a term that might just change how you think about this time of year — May-cember. It's basically December but in May. Mother's Day, teacher appreciation, graduations, summer break incoming, wardrobe overhauls, everyone off their normal. She breaks down why this month is genuinely hard on nervous systems and shares three survival tips: don't schedule the damn appointments in May, guard your free time, and keep your expectations reasonable. Plus a very relatable ADHD tax story that ties right back into last week's good enough mother conversation. 🛋️ Pink Couch Post-Its: Couples therapy gets its place in the road trip analogy. If your relationship with your partner is its own road trip and kids add the detours and flat tires — couples therapy is where you figure out how to navigate it together and find your way back to each other. 💟 Favorites Folder: The Mom Rage Reset Toolkit by Macie Litchfield (https://www.instagram.com/macielitchfieldcounseling/). A $12 resource full of tools for supporting your body, emotions, and nervous system after a mom rage episode. Tools you can also teach your kids. 🫶🏻 One Last Thing: Consultation calls are open for new clients for both talk therapy and ART. EPISODE 8: Your Kids Don't Need a Perfect Mom. Good Enough is Just Fine.

Lauren opens this episode with something she learned in grad school that has never left her: the Good Enough Mother. A concept created by British pediatrician Donald Winnicott in the 1950s, it's the idea that perfection is not the goal of motherhood — repair is. She gets into it honestly, including losing her marbles during potty training round two and what it actually looked like to repair with her daughter afterward. On the Pink Couch Post-Its side: Lauren introduces a new provider partnership opportunity (details in the Provider Pal Mini Memo — link in bio) and gives a full breakdown of Accelerated Resolution Therapy. What it is, how it works, why she compares it to a chiropractic adjustment, and why she hasn't stopped talking about it since getting trained in August. This episode also marks the debut of a brand new segment: The Favorites Folder — good stuff Lauren can't stop talking about that you should know about. First entry: Prep for Us, a couples coaching program from Mike and Chelsea Scaggs at Postpartum Together designed to help partners actually prepare for life after baby. Their first cohort starts this week. And in Oh, One Last Thing: consultation calls are open. If anything from this episode resonated, that's probably a sign. New episodes weekly. EPISODE 7: Make the Damn Appointments (A Loving Push From Your Favorite Therapist)

This week Lauren opens with a question: when was your last dental cleaning? Your last pap? Your first colonoscopy? If you felt a little squirm of guilt — you're exactly who this episode is for. The Millennial Mama Mix this week is a full PSA about making appointments for yourself. Lauren shares her own experience (a first colonoscopy at 33), a checklist of appointments most moms are putting off, and two strategies for actually getting them done — body doubling and batching. Remember: the most loving thing you can do for your family is take care of yourself. On the Pink Couch Post-Its side: Lauren launched a new quiz called Am I the A*****e? (Mom Edition). Spoiler: no matter how you answer, the result tells you you're not the a*****e — and here's what's actually going on instead. She also breaks down exactly what a consultation call looks like: what happens in those 20-30 minutes, why there's zero obligation to book at the end, and what she does if she's not the right fit. And in Oh One Last Thing: consultation slots are open. Is one of them yours? EPISODE 6: Track Your Cycle (No, Really) + The Back to Me Method Explained

We tried something new this week — Lauren pre-recorded the Memo from her office, which means no fumbling to turn off the live at the end. Progress. This episode covers a lot of ground. First up: the brand photoshoot recap, including what it's like to be perceived on camera when you really, really do not want to be perceived. Then The Break Room officially launched — Lauren breaks down what it is, who it's for, and why she built it alongside Mama Mess Hall. Then we get into the hot take of the week: track your cycle. If you have a uterus and ovaries, this is not optional. Lauren explains why knowing where you are in your cycle is healthcare information, how it connects to mood, energy, and capacity, and what to do if you've had a hysterectomy or are navigating perimenopause, postmenopause, or a neurodivergent brain. And finally — a full breakdown of the Back to Me Method. What it actually is, what the four steps look like in practice, and what it means to find a version of motherhood that fits your real brain and your real life.
