Before You Vote, Remember This | Revelation 5 | Friday Devo

In Revelation 5, God holds a scroll in His right hand, and no one in heaven or on earth is worthy to open it. Then a Lamb steps forward. John's first readers would have caught the symbol right away. Roman emperors like Domitian and Trajan had statues made of themselves holding a scroll in their right hand. It was their sign of authority. Revelation says only Jesus is worthy to hold it. This Tuesday we get to vote. It's a gift John never had. So do your homework, vote your conscience, and be a good citizen. But remember: the throne and the scroll aren't on the ballot. Jesus already holds them. Greentree Christian Church · Rolla, Missouri

Lay Down Your Idols | Acts 19 | To the Ends of the Earth Wk 9

Ephesus was full of idols, some obvious and some subtle. Some people burned their scrolls at a cost of over 160 years' wages, and it was a good trade. Demetrius couldn't let go of his, and the city rioted. An idol is anything that absorbs your heart more than God does, and every one ends in ruins. Put Jesus back at the top where he belongs. Scripture: Acts 19:1-41 (Paul in Ephesus: the sons of Sceva, the burned scrolls and the riot over Artemis) Speaker: Chris Foster Series: To the Ends of the Earth, Week 9 Greentree Christian Church · 800 Greentree Road, Rolla, MO 65401 Sundays at 8:00, 9:15 & 10:45 AM New here? https://greentreerolla.org/new-here Give: https://greentreerolla.org/give Prayer requests: https://greentreerolla.org/prayer Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAB4QwXZ7QXhArdmcqR-2mw greentreerolla.org New sermons every Monday and devotionals every Friday. You Can't Cheer for Both Sides | Matthew 6:24 | Greentree Together Weekly Devotional

A house-divided jersey looks cute in the stands. Half one team, half the other. But when one team scores, the other loses, and you're stuck, unable to fully celebrate either side. Jesus says the same thing about your life: "No one can serve two masters." You can't wear half the colors of the kingdom and half the colors of the world. Grace on Sunday. Personal ambition, comfort or secret compromise the rest of the week. Divided loyalty is no loyalty at all. Jesus doesn't want half your heart. He deserves the whole thing. This week's challenge: Where are you still trying to cheer for both sides? God Is in Charge | Acts 18:1-17 | To the Ends of the Earth Wk 8

Corinth was not easy for Paul. God used it anyway, as a season of refreshment and reminder. Real authority does not come from Rome, the synagogue, or a proconsul. God is in charge. Trust him, stay faithful, and go with the people he has placed beside you. Scripture: Acts 18:1-17 (Paul in Corinth; also Romans 16:3) Speaker: Brenden Pristach Series: To the Ends of the Earth, Week 8 Greentree Christian Church · 800 Greentree Road, Rolla, MO 65401 Sundays at 8:00, 9:15 & 10:45 AM New here? https://greentreerolla.org/new-here Give: https://greentreerolla.org/give Prayer requests: https://greentreerolla.org/prayer Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAB4QwXZ7QXhArdmcqR-2mw greentreerolla.org New sermons every Monday and devotionals every Friday. They Lived to 100 and 107. Their Real Legacy Was This. | Greentree Together Weekly Devotional

Ben Harris on two 100-year-old birthday parties and a cloud of witnesses. In 2019 he attended parties for Eva Cottingham and Elva Abbott, both turning 100. Eva had been part of Greentree from a few weeks old. Elva started coming as a teenager after her family moved into town. Eva lived past 100. Elva lived to 107. They watched the church through tornadoes, a fire, temporary locations, expansions, a property purchase, a gym build, and a move to the current campus. Their faithfulness held across 157 years of church history. Hebrews 11 lists the Hall of Faith. Hebrews 12 says we are surrounded by a huge cloud of witnesses, so we should strip off every weight and fix our eyes on Jesus. The challenge is twofold: name the people already in your cloud of witnesses, and live in a way that your name could be on someone else’s list for the generations still coming.

Build the Bridge | Acts 17:16-34 | To the Ends of the Earth Wk 7

In Athens, Paul found an altar to an unknown God and used it as a bridge to Jesus. He knew his audience and found common ground. We can too, through real relationships. God is not far from any of us. The time is right now. Seize the moment. Scripture: Acts 17:13-34 (Paul in Athens; also Acts 1:8, 2 Timothy 2) Speaker: Ben Harris Series: To the Ends of the Earth, Week 7 Greentree Christian Church · 800 Greentree Road, Rolla, MO 65401 Sundays at 8:00, 9:15 & 10:45 AM New here? https://greentreerolla.org/new-here Give: https://greentreerolla.org/give Prayer requests: https://greentreerolla.org/prayer Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAB4QwXZ7QXhArdmcqR-2mw greentreerolla.org New sermons every Monday and devotionals every Friday. Gospel Disruption | Acts 17:1-15 | To the Ends of the Earth Wk 6

The world often gets value wrong. The gospel was disruptive in Thessalonica, and it still is. When Jesus is King, he disrupts your heart, your wallet, your schedule, your ambitions. The Bereans listened and searched the word. When God speaks, do you listen? Scripture: Acts 17:1-15 (Thessalonica and Berea) Speaker: Justin Cook Series: To the Ends of the Earth, Week 6 Greentree Christian Church · 800 Greentree Road, Rolla, MO 65401 Sundays at 8:00, 9:15 & 10:45 AM New here? https://greentreerolla.org/new-here Give: https://greentreerolla.org/give Prayer requests: https://greentreerolla.org/prayer Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAB4QwXZ7QXhArdmcqR-2mw greentreerolla.org New sermons every Monday and devotionals every Friday. What are You Running Towards? | Greentree Together Weekly Devotional

Brenden Pristach on Sunday Running Club and Philippians 3. Brad set a race goal over 12 weeks and beat it by a full minute. The better goal was underneath that: staying healthy so he could watch his kids, grandkids, and maybe great-grandchildren grow up. Paul pushes past even that. He counts status and achievement as rubbish compared with knowing Christ, the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings. He presses on toward the prize of God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus. Running, Bible reading, prayer — the win is not the streak. The win is being shaped into the likeness of Jesus, with people who are chasing the same prize. This week: What are you running toward? Who are you running with?
