    Wait..How Much?!!

Send us Fan Mail In this episode I share thoughts on my recent perusing of recent college expenses. Wow! I have nearly 15 years of higher ed experience (advisor, professor, researcher, college football fan, etc.) and I'm blown away by the cost!  This episode isn't a "how to" on paying for college or selecting a college. I just highlight many of the reported costs to attend a private, nonprofit 4-year college (and a few publics). In fact, I still believe in the "college experience," but man...it ain't cheap!  What's your experience with college costs? Drop me a line at drjermg@coolmeanderings.com. The Perfect Storm for US Colleges and How to Navigate Through

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, a former college professor (Me!) talks about the sobering reality for US colleges and universities as it deals with a convergence of challenges. How we understand college is definitely about to change - and maybe that's OK. This is truly, in my view, a perfect of storm of certain disruption for higher education. I also imagine what I'd tell my 18-year-old self if I could speak with him (in the past or present) at the risk of an incursion, to tell him how I'd navigate college in uncertain times. I think there are fundamental skills that the college environment can help one develop to survive in just about any era. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Music: Between the lines by Ondrosik https://freemusicarchive.org/music/On... Review - Daredevil Born Again: Season Two Raises the Bar for Marvel TV

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, I give a mostly spoiler-free review of Daredevil Born Again season 2 after watching 7 of 8 episodes. It's definitely a good continuation of season 1 with some interesting cliffhangers that'll lead into season 3.  Sadly, the series is not as popular with casual streamers, reportedly. To me, it's Marvel's best TV work since "Loki" and "Wandavision."  –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Music: Titan by Alex-Productions   / alexproductionsmusic  License: Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://links.al/4zb Music promoted by Audio Library: https://links.al/youtube ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––  Sources ‘Daredevil: Born Again’s Michael Gandolfini Teases How Daniel’s Shocking Choice Could Fuel Season 3 ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Is Amazing, But Its Low Viewership Is Baffling Daredevil: Born Again’s Showrunner On Introducing Matthew Lillard And Bringing Back Jessica Jones For Season 2 | Cinemablend Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 set photos confirm Heather Glenn’s transformation to Lady Muse  Marvel fans get the Avengers: Doomsday trailer update they've been waiting for Support the show If you like this episode, please like, subscribe and share. 4. Scandals and Why We Love Them

Scandals and Why We Love Them

Send us Fan Mail In the episode, I talk about the latest public scandal involved NFL head coach Mike Vrabel and former New York Times/The Athletic reporter Dianna Russini. The situation has captivated the sporting world and basically drew attention away from Thursday's opening of the NFL Draft along with the first round of the NBA Playoffs (yawn).  I give my thoughts on the adult situation and why we can't seem to help ourselves when public figures end of these salacious situations.  CORRECTIONS: In this episode, I mentioned that Vrabel had coached the Patriots for two seasons when in fact Vrabel just completed his first year as the New England head coach. He coached the Tennessee Titans from 2018-23. Also, it was erroneously suggested that Vrable played in Super Bowl XXXI for the New England Patriots against the Green Bay Packers in January 1997, however, Vrabel was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1997 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did not join the Patriots until 2001-02 season. He played with the Patriots until 2008 and was on the 2007-08 Patriots that went undefeated and lost in Super Bowl XLII to the New York Giants. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Music: Nostalgia Neuralgia by Joshua Moses https://joshuamosesmusic.bandcamp.com License: Creative Commons — Attribution 4.0 International — CC BY 4.0 Free Download / Stream: https://links.al/xPc Music promoted by Audio Library: https://links.al/youtube –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Sources: Pablo Torre focuses on the Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini situation - NBC Sports New York Post Trolls Patriots' Mike Vrabel With Savage Tabloid Headline Mike Vrabel speaks after new Dianna Russini photos released: "My previous actions don't meet the standard that I hold myself to" - CBS Boston Mike Vrabel’s battle is far from over | Karen Guregian - masslive.com Why Some Cheating Scandals In Pop Culture Are Worth Rooting For Why We Love Scandal - Big Think Support the show If you like this episode, please like, subscribe and share.
