Episode 111 - Drew Is Wrong About Movies

We’re finally back, after a month full of scheduling difficulties and other mishaps. Nath discloses that he’s returned to the world of regular employment, which may not bode well for the release schedule. Drew tells us about his upcoming big move. We discuss what it’s like to be The Night People, overmedicating children, comics that exemplify why they’re called the “funny pages,” “necks” according to my notes, and movie pitches and great movies, as well as movie release dates that Drew is definitely wrong about. We might even have gotten around to some of the recent news stories, if we stopped reprising “Sing Sing Sing” to fill time. All this and more in the latest episode of Community Shower, raw and unfiltered! (Meaning I didn’t take the time to edit it) Original airdate: July 7, 2023 This would end up being our final episode.

Episode 110 - Wes Anderson’s The Grand Chinese Spectacle

We’re back to talk about robes and other podcast-appropriate clothing, the latest interview with Dianne Feinstein, mashups, how to get good service on food delivery apps, street jokes, and an explainer of one of the funniest tweets of all time. Original airdate: May 19, 2023

Episode 109 - Mormon Gangstarappernacle Choir

We are back with a certified banger! We cover a whole lot of rap and rappers in our intro, then move on to some of the luminaries of conservative thought, like Steven Crowder and Rod Dreher. We discuss some of the stranger aspects of our upbringings, look at comedy through the lens of cultural landmarks like Ted Lasso, Patton Oswalt, Pauly Shore, and Carlos Mencia, and cover presidential assassinations and great multi-hyphenates of our time. We return to the discussion of rap and DJs several times throughout, and stand in solidarity with the WGA writer’s strike. Original airdate: May 8, 2023

Episode 108 - The Real Story of 9/11

So this episode, we tried to record a couple of weeks ago but I had to leave early before we finished, so we only got half an episode or so in the can. Unfortunately, we couldn't meet up to finish the episode until recently. So you kind of have two separate episodes grafted together here, but it's practically episode-and-a-half sized, so it's worth the wait. Some of our topics include dudes and their qualities of rocking, James Joyce, television, Shrek raves, jobs and how to get them, what makes life worth living and whether it even is, and also just a segment where we list famous lesbians we've heard of. You'll want to stick with this one all the way through the end for one of the craziest stories you'll ever hear. Original airdate: April 14, 2023

Episode 107 - ”Too Much Shit in My Ass” by Stynx

We're back to talk about problems with our physical health, bad body armor, bad recipe hacks, political campaigns throughout American history, and more, I'm sure. Original airdate March 29, 2023

Episode 106 - Drew Beats Off Covid III: Revenge of the Sick

This episode, some of our topics include the various types of theft, the George Lucas Extended Cinematic Universe and how it all ties together, Modesto vs. Stockton, which town might be the Modesto of Houston, the best Cajun and seafood restaurants, the worst ideas for food the Midwest has to offer, our favorite tiki bars and other kinds of cocktail bars, and what Nath's cooking for dinner. It is not pinto beans and cornbread, although I wish I had some cornbread now. Original airdate March 13, 2023

Episode 105 - Osmosis Jones. Who? Osmosis Jones!

This week, we discuss the titular movie, the LAPD Rampart scandal, the early days of disco, numerous unsavory practices of British institutions, and more. Original airdate March 3, 2023

Episode 104 - Chris Hansen Sucked Me Off??

After a week off due to scheduling issues (vacation, illness, mania), we’re back and cover a lot of topics. Join us as we take a look back at the early 2000s, when lad mags, brozines, and manevision ruled the Earth. We also revisit the era through one of Pitchfork’s most memorable album reviews. We take a look at the great thumbnails of the western world (image, not primate), explore why “To Catch a Predator” ended, the origins of podcasting and the term “podcast,” consider a world where Drew constantly bugs minor celebrities for mundane questions about sandwich orders, and much more.
