Say What?! Kids News & Comedy Podcast (Ages 5-10)

Say What?! Kids Podcast (Pip, Grump, Brad & Vera)

Say What?! is the funny kids news podcast for curious kids ages 5 to 10, built for the morning school run, family car rides, breakfast tables, and bedtime giggles. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, four puppet hosts turn three real, strange, true news stories from around the world into 6 minutes of screen-free family comedy. Meet the crew: Pip wants to tell you what happened in the world today. Vera is mostly going to roll her eyes about it. Brad is just here for the vibes. And Grump is mostly asleep, yet somehow always says the wisest thing. Together they cover positive science discoveries, weird animal rescues, space missions, and real-world oddities: a goat eating a town's welcome mats, scientists baking cookies from recycled plastic, or a white lobster going to college. On Fridays, we open the phone lines for our International Kid Caller segment, where a caller from a different country brings a funny local problem and the crew tries their best to solve it. Stories are 100% real, kid-safe, and parent-approved (zero scary news, zero violence, zero bathroom humor). Everyone is fine in the end, even the goat. Want your kid on a Friday episode? This is a spooky-silly special of the news comedy show for kids aged 5 to 10. Pip is a pumpkin, Grump is a sleepy vampire, Brad is a hippie wizard and Vera is a witch. Story one: grown-ups climb inside giant hollowed-out pumpkins and paddle them across a lake at the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta in Tualatin, Oregon. Story two: Duncan the elephant at the zoo in Denver gets a giant pumpkin as a Halloween treat. He stomps it flat, then takes a big happy bite. Story three: the world record for the heaviest pumpkin is broken twice in one week. First by Ian Paton in England, then by Ron Wallace in Rhode Island, whose pumpkin is the first ever to weigh more than 3,000 pounds. Then Gus the Ghost calls in with a sticky problem. He ate so much chocolate and so many sweets that his white sheet is covered in smudges, and he is too embarrassed to float out and say boo. Luckily, the answer is easy! Gus is a made-up character with a synthetic voice. Nothing scary, just silly fun for the whole family. Happy Halloween, and see you Monday! This episode contains a short paid advert for grown-ups, between the third story and the ghost call.Support the show
