    26 - Susan & I Talk Mortality, Religion and Who Will Care for Us When We’re Old

    What happens when you realize you might have more years behind you than ahead of you? And how does that change the way you want to live? My BFF of 35+ years, Susan, and I have been having some pretty deep conversations lately, and this one is about a subject we don't always like to talk about: our own mortality.  From getting our wills and important documents organized to questioning what happens after we die, we cover a lot of ground. Losing someone we love, watching our parents age, caring for them while navigating our own midlife transitions, and wondering who will take care of us someday can really shake things up.  For me, it's also been a reminder that I want to be intentional about the years I have left, how I show up, and how I can continue to serve others. Because when I look back at what matters most, it's the relationships, the laughter, and the ways we help each other through this thing called life. It’s about having the strength and energy to do the things you love, whether that's getting down on the floor with your grandkids, traveling the world, gardening or simply living a good life.  In this episode of Evolving Together, Ashley Anderson of Functional Fitness joins me again to break down fitness and nutrition into simple, doable steps. We talk about why strength training matters as we age, how to get moving when you're starting from scratch or dealing with pain, and why working with a trainer can be about so much more than weight loss.  I love the practical nutrition tips Ashley shares, from drinking more water and eating a variety of colorful foods to getting enough fiber and choosing whole food sources of protein.     24 - What Can I Build With This? Spiraling Up, Not Down, Through Midlife with Karen Rudolf

    If there is ever a time we feel shaken up, it’s midlife. Our health changes. Our kids grow up. We burn out. Our marriage may end. We wake up one morning and realize we don't even recognize ourselves anymore. So we ask the question: Who am I now? My conversation with Karen Rudolph is about what happens when we stop seeing those shakeups as proof that something is wrong with us and start seeing them as an invitation to wake up, get curious and find our way back to who we really are. Karen is the author of Spiraling UP: Command Your Light! and her story includes burnout as an RN, the end of a nearly three decade marriage and a life changing accident that almost left her paralyzed.     EP 23 - Can You Love Yourself Even on the Crappy Days?

    Self love sounds great in theory, right? But what does it actually look like when you’re having a crappy day, you mess up, your body is changing, or you’re looking in the mirror wondering, “Who is that middle aged woman?” 😂 My dear friend Connie is back for a very real and very honest conversation about self love and self compassion which is what the retreat we cohosted in Asheville was all about.  And because this is Evolving Together, we also talk about aging, wrinkles, changing bodies, dropping the ball, and learning to soften instead of beating ourselves up.
