    THE LIONS’ BIGGEST TRAINING CAMP PROBLEM JUST GOT WORSE!

    The Detroit Lions’ biggest training camp concern just got worse. With starting safeties Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch opening camp on the Active/PUP list, Detroit must prepare its defense without two of its most important and versatile playmakers. Branch’s absence was expected as he continues working back from the Achilles injury he suffered late last season. Joseph’s lingering knee issue, however, creates another layer of concern for a secondary already facing major questions entering the 2026 season. In this episode, we break down exactly what the Active/PUP designation means, why it is different from the Reserve/PUP list, and how soon these players could potentially return to practice. More importantly, we examine what Joseph and Branch mean to the Lions’ defensive system. Their ability to disguise coverages, rotate after the snap, play multiple positions, support the run and create pressure gives Detroit tremendous flexibility.
