    Massena Data Center Showdown: The Vote, The Arguments & The Fallout

    🔥 Massena showed up. The arguments were made. And when it was over, the proposed six-month data-center moratorium went down 3–2. In this episode of The Daily Dose of Don, Don breaks down the September 16, 2026 Massena Town Council public hearing from beginning to end. After releasing the full hearing and individual clips, it's time to put the entire night together. Residents, activists, engineers, business owners and community leaders took the microphone with very different views about what a major data-center development could mean for Massena and the surrounding region. The discussion covered jobs and economic development, environmental concerns, water and cooling, emergency services, AI, Akwesasne, community infrastructure, corporate promises and whether six additional months were needed before moving forward. Then came the vote: ❌ Jared Hollander — NO❌ Sam Carbone — NO✅ Ray Lancto — YES✅ Kristy Baker — YES❌ Adrian Taraska — NO Final vote: 3–2. The moratorium was defeated. But the meeting wasn't finished. Kristy Baker's attempt to explain her YES vote leads to an interruption from former Massena Mayor Jim Hidy. Later, Baker confronts Hidy and tells him never to interrupt her again, saying she deserves respect. Hidy responds that she needs to earn it.
