The 9 moments that decide churn or expansion | Special: the whole Change Flags framework

Somewhere in your customer base right now, an account is deciding whether you're still a fit, and it won't show up on your at-risk dashboard. The twist? Their decision could end in churn – or in more seats – and which one depends almost entirely on what you show them in that moment. There are nine of those moments. The 51% churn risk nobody owns – and all it takes is sending a sequence you already wrote | ft. Jane Portman, co-founder of Userlist

Most SaaS companies have a sharp play of following champions to their next company – because a former champion is good pipeline. Far fewer have any strategy for the person who just landed in the seat the champion vacated. When a champion leaves, someone else inherits their account, and the onboarding that already ran on the initial user never runs again. The account record doesn't change. The health score still says green. Yet the new human inside it is on day one – and probably lost. And that's why 51% of accounts that lose a champion churn within 12 months.
