Where Did Your Mind Just Go?

Dr. Gabriel Lowe and Coastal Therapy Group

Where Did Your Mind Just Go? is an open invitation to wonder out loud, sit with the uncomfortable, and find beauty in uncertainty. Each episode, I sit down with a guest to sojourn in a topic that matters to them, and we follow the conversation wherever it wants to go. No scripts. No talking points. Just two people wondering out loud and seeing what we find. Because here's the thing I keep learning: the richest conversations aren't the ones where you walk away with answers. They're the ones where you walk away with better questions. New episodes every 1st and 3rd Wednesday.  Let's see what finds us along the way. Raising two Black and Indian kids with her husband, she has plenty of practice at the conversations most of us avoid. They talk about why the adults are the ones who are not ready, how to answer a five-year-old about immigration raids without frightening them, what race-based trauma actually is, privilege as a blind spot, choosing public school for safety, and the mantra that keeps her family steady: the inside of these walls is a soft place to land. Can a 60-second reel do harm? With Christopher Schadt, PsyD

What happens when the complexity of psychology meets the speed of social media? In this episode of Where Did Your Mind Just Go?, Dr. Gabe Lowe reconnects with friend and fellow psychologist Christopher Schadt, PsyD, who shares candidly about his own experience creating psychology content online, and why he's stepped away from it. Together, they explore the pressure to create content that performs, the risks of reducing complex struggles to diagnoses and quick fixes, and the tension between what the algorithm rewards and what feels authentic and responsible as a therapist It’s less about deciding whether social media is “good” or “bad,” and more about learning to hold the complexity of what it can offer, and what it can’t.
