Katie Lensing: Professional Organizer, SAHM

Are you struggling to find time to maintain a tidy house? Feeling overwhelmed by the mental load of managing your home while little ones require your attention? Looking for practical solutions to maximize your space? You are in the right place friend! This podcast will teach you how to maximize your time, ensure everyone in your home can locate their items efficiently, and create an intentional environment for you and your family. This is possible all while taking care of those sweet little ones and maintaining your own sanity. I’m telling you, it's all connected! Hi! I’m Katie, a wife, professional organizer and SAHM whose littles are not so little anymore. A few years back, after some unexpected, fast-moving life circumstances, our home was in a state of clutter and chaos. After two years of doing nothing and drowning in survival mode, I decided enough was enough. My turning point was that I finally made the connection between my feelings of overwhelm and the visual and physical clutter in our space. I knew I had the organization skills, but I needed a game plan. Using intentional short pockets of time, I was able to declutter, organize, and simplify our home. We also established automated daily habits that helped our days flow and function so much better. If you are ready to create an easy-to-tidy home and enjoy the benefits of an organized space, this podcast is for you. This is a process, but I am honored to walk through it with you. Welcome to The Organized SAHM. Make sure you have your comfy clothes on, and let’s get started!

    19. Can't Get Your Family to Help Keep the House Tidy? 4 Simple Decluttering Habits That Actually Stick

Are you constantly picking up after everyone in your house and wondering, “Why am I the only one who cares if this place stays tidy?” Maybe you've tried asking your kids to clean up. Maybe you've yelled. Maybe you've threatened consequences. Maybe you've simply given up and decided, “It's easier if I just do it myself.” I get it. Getting kids to do anything (especially something new or uncomfortable) can be challenging. Here’s something to consider. What if we've accidentally created homes that are actually too difficult for our children to manage? Too many toys. Too many clothes. Too many books. No clear place for things to go. Expectations that don't match their age or ability. And then we wonder why they aren't taking responsibility. In this episode, I'm giving you four simple decluttering habits that can actually stick—and as a former first-grade teacher, I'm going to show you how to think about your home the same way you would think about setting a child up for success in the classroom. We're also going to talk about the hard parts. What do you do when your child throws a fit? When you're exhausted? When it's honestly easier to just do it yourself? When your child pushes back against a new expectation? If you're tired of feeling like the only person responsible for keeping your home together, you're going to want to listen to this one.   Connect with me in my FREE FB Group! https://bit.ly/TheOrganizedSAHM  FB/Instagram ->katie.lensing Contact - > katie@simplyorganizedwithkatie.com Podcast -> theorganizedsahm.podbean.com
