    Miami Did What the Entire SEC Couldn't. Now They Want New Rules.

    The SEC hasn't put a team in the national championship game in three years — the Big Ten won all three, and the team on the other sideline in January was Miami. So this week at SEC Media Days in Tampa, the most powerful conference in college football announced its plan. It wasn't "win more games." Commissioner Greg Sankey confirmed talks about breaking away from the NCAA are "real," coaches attacked how the playoff committee counts wins, and Florida's Jon Sumrall declared there are three leagues: "the AFC, the NFC and the SEC." I've been telling you all offseason this was coming. When NIL and revenue sharing legalized the SEC's biggest advantage — money — the scoreboard stopped cooperating.
