Episode 24: A Dodgers Eulogy & More Picks We’ll Regret

Davy delivers his eulogy for the Dodgers’ season before we hit the ice to talk NHL Frozen Frenzy, pick our ALCS champ, and dive deep into our NBA predictions. Because after how well our MLB preseason picks aged, why wouldn’t you trust us with basketball? It’s a sports-heavy episode of B.A.D. Takes Only—mourning one season, making questionable calls on another, and setting the stage for some great guests coming soon.

Episode 23: Davy and Brian Are Served Humble Pie

The receipts are out, and Brian and Davy have some explaining to do. With the MLB playoffs here, we revisit our preseason picks, own the misses, and see which predictions actually held up. Some takes aged well. Others deserve a full serving of humble pie. Naturally, we follow that up by making more predictions. We turn to the NHL and pick our divisional winners, debating who has what it takes to finish on top and putting a fresh round of takes on the record. Will we learn from our mistakes? Probably not—but that’s why it’s BAD Takes Only.

Episode 22: Between the Lyrics with Dan Arwady

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dan Arwady joins Brian and Davy on B.A.D. Takes Only for a conversation about his musical journey and the experiences that shape his work. We dig into how his sound has evolved, his approach to songwriting, and what it means to share personal stories through music. Dan opens up about family, fatherhood, and balancing everyday life with his creative ambitions. We also explore the work behind building a career in music, finding your voice, and connecting with listeners. It’s a chance to get to know the person behind the microphone—and the stories behind the artist.

Episode 21: The Guy Behind the Glove - A Conversation with Derek Henderson

Former Mets draft pick Derek Henderson joins Brian and Davy to talk about the side of professional baseball fans rarely see: long seasons, uncertain opportunities, and the work it takes to keep going through the minor leagues and independent ball. Then the conversation turns to the GOAT debate. How much should championships count? Does ring culture flatten everything else an athlete accomplished? And why are we so determined to name one player the greatest? Derek also opens up about wellness and what it means to take care of yourself beyond the game. It’s a conversation about baseball, perspective, and the person behind the player.

Episode 20: From the Vault — Reality TV, Driver’s Ed & Things Our Wives Wish We’d Stop Doing

Davy’s under the weather and Brian has family over, so we’re pulling Episode 20 from the BAD Takes Only vault. We kick things off with Driver’s Ed, then get into why we hate reality TV: there’s barely any reality in it. Our solution? Replace one of the buff guys with a chubby dude. That’s a show we’d watch. We also confess the everyday habits that drive our wives crazy.

Episode 19: Just A Dude Chasing a Dream — A Conversation with Ben Durand

Ben Durand joins B.A.D. Takes Only for one of our favorite conversations yet. We dive into how his music journey began, the experiences that shaped him as an artist, the momentum he’s building, and what comes next. From writing songs and performing across New England to chasing bigger opportunities, Ben gives us an honest look at the person and passion behind the music.

Episode 18: The Clippers Get Clipped + Our NFL Season Picks

The NBA finally dropped the hammer on the Los Angeles Clippers following its investigation into Kawhi Leonard’s endorsement deals and allegations of salary-cap circumvention. We break down everything that happened, including the Clippers’ record-setting $30 million fine, the loss of five future first-round draft picks and Steve Ballmer’s one-year suspension. Was the punishment justified, or did the NBA go too far? We discuss what it means for Kawhi, Ballmer and the future of a franchise that can never seem to escape chaos. Then, football is officially back. We make our picks for the upcoming NFL season, debate which teams are legitimate contenders and identify the teams we believe are being completely overhyped. We also give our playoff and Super Bowl predictions while putting several takes on the record that will almost certainly come back to haunt us. The Clippers are in trouble, the NFL is back and the confidence is once again completely unjustified. It’s Episode 18 of B.A.D. Takes Only.

Brian takes a trip down memory lane, sharing stories and lessons from his own youth sports career and how those experiences shaped him along the way. We also dive into the current Little League World Series, talking about the teams, the excitement, the young athletes, and what makes the tournament so special.
