The Red Flag Nobody Talks About: Keeping Pictures Of Your Ex is a PROBLEM.

Some relationship issues don’t start with cheating, lies, or betrayal. Sometimes they start with something much quieter: old relationship photos, posts, and memories that never got cleared away. In this episode, I share a personal experience from a past relationship and explain why keeping visible reminders of an ex became one of the biggest sources of tension between us. Many people view old social media posts as harmless history, but I believe they can send a powerful message about emotional availability. When you’re trying to build something new with someone, constantly seeing evidence of a past relationship can create confusion, comparison, and emotional distance. I discuss why the issue was never about insecurity for me; it was about feeling like there was still unfinished energy occupying space in a new relationship. Throughout the episode, I explore the difference between honoring your past and displaying it. I don’t believe anyone should erase their life experiences, but I do believe in being intentional about what remains visible when you’re asking someone to invest their heart in you. There is a difference between remembering a chapter and continuing to showcase it. I also share how remaining silent about my feelings only made the problem worse. Like many people, I tried to convince myself that what I was feeling didn’t matter, but unresolved discomfort has a way of growing over time. This episode examines why emotional boundaries should be communicated early and why dismissing concerns can create cracks in trust. This conversation goes beyond social media and old photos. It’s really about emotional clarity, respect, and creating an environment where a new relationship has room to thrive. I discuss the importance of making intentional choices that reflect the life and relationship you are currently building rather than the one you left behind. If you’ve ever struggled with seeing an ex’s presence linger in a new relationship or if you’ve wondered whether old relationship posts still matter, this episode offers an honest, thoughtful perspective. Join me as I discuss why I believe healthy relationships require more than commitment; they require making space for the future by letting go of what no longer belongs in the present.

Happy Juneteenth! 💪🏾 (But we still have work to do!)

Juneteenth is more than a date on the calendar; it is a reminder of delayed freedom and the long journey from survival to true liberation. In this episode, we explore what it really means to celebrate freedom in a country where freedom was not given equally or at the same time. We break down the history behind June 19, 1865, when enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. But this conversation doesn’t stay in the past. We connect history to today, asking the uncomfortable but necessary question: how far have we actually come? From economic inequality to systemic barriers in housing, education, and justice, Juneteenth becomes not just a celebration, but a mirror reflecting what still needs to change. We also talk about resilience and how Black communities have continued to build, create, and thrive despite centuries of oppression. Culture, music, language, entrepreneurship, and storytelling are all forms of resistance that turned pain into power. Juneteenth is not just about what was taken, but also about what was never destroyed. In this episode, we also address the importance of truth-telling. Many people only learn a simplified version of history, but real freedom requires full awareness. Understanding Juneteenth means understanding the cost of freedom and why erasure of history is dangerous for future generations. We then shift into reflection and personal responsibility: what does Juneteenth mean for us individually today? How do we honor it beyond social media posts and holiday sales? The conversation challenges listeners to think about how they show up in their communities, their choices, and their awareness of history. Finally, we close with a call to action: Juneteenth is both a remembrance and a responsibility. It asks us to celebrate progress, but not become comfortable with unfinished work. Freedom is not just a moment in history, it is something still being shaped, protected, and demanded every single day.

    Why The Name, “Unapologetic Reset”?

Happy Birthday To Me! This is the official first actual episode of the podcast. In this episode, I get into the reason I came up with the title of the podcast. When I decided to do this podcast, I had been feeling as if I had so much to say bottled up inside of me. I started to feel as if I was unfulfilled because I held back on so many things that I could have said to people, but didn’t. I stayed quiet a lot because I didn’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings, even though people would be careless in how they spoke to me. I have lived so many years of my life small. So many! I have shrunk myself to not overshadow others, stayed quiet to avoid arguments, and kept my opinions to myself to avoid conflict. I don’t know where that started in my life….wait, yes I do; it started from life’s experiences. I can’t wait to get into the meat and bones of this podcast. So many of my solo episodes will be about things I have gone through and things I have tolerated. Not because I’m bitter; it’s because I’m examining my own self with a fine tooth comb and putting a mirror in front of my own face. I’m shouting to the hills, if you will. I’m admitting to myself where I went wrong, and I will have guests on as well. This is not about bitterness and holding on to the negative, by the way. This is a clean up as I go, type of thing. I’m facing what was, as I navigate and grow what is becoming. I want to be absolutely unrecognizable in a very satisfactory way next year. The work starts right now.
