ADOPTION IS AN OPTION | Ep 3

What happens when you reach a point in life where you have everything you thought you wanted—and then God asks, “What’s next?” In this episode of Doing Good Better, Steve Kaloper sits down with John Knox, founder of Adoption Is an Option, for a deeply personal conversation about adoption, purpose, stewardship, and following a calling. John shares his remarkable story of being adopted, finding his birth parents later in life, and discovering the profound impact adoption had on his own life. He also explains how, after selling his company and recovering from a serious case of COVID in 2020, he intentionally stepped away from his career with no clear plan for what would come next. During a month-long journey of becoming “empty” and listening, John says God gave him four words: Adoption is an option. Those four words became a mission to change the cultural conversation around adoption and ensure that adoption is recognized as an important option for women facing unexpected pregnancies. John and Steve discuss the importance of honoring birth mothers, changing the language we use around adoption, engaging the medical community, and telling the stories of adopted people through the I Am That Kid movement.
