Ep 018 | Choose You | Wine, Wisdom & Know Your Worth

What happens when you finally stop questioning whether you’re worthy of the life you want—and start choosing yourself? In this episode of Wine, Wisdom & What Now?, Yolanda Holliday sits down with Pamela Davis-Brown, creator and host of The Well Done Life podcast, for an honest conversation about worthiness, choosing yourself, healing, wellness, love after 50, and giving yourself permission to live fully. Pamela shares why she calls this her “season of worthiness,” how life has changed since turning 50, and what it looked like to open herself to marriage for the first time later in life. She also opens up about her experience with caregiving, depression, therapy, and the journey from constantly trying to heal to finally allowing herself to live. Together, Yolanda and Pamela talk about releasing other people’s expectations, advocating for yourself, trusting the work you’ve done, and understanding that choosing yourself isn’t selfish. Because after years of being everything to everybody else, there comes a point when you have to ask: If you don’t choose you now, when will you? Ep 017 | Being While Becoming | Wine, Wisdom & Embracing Who You Are

What happens when you stop trying to become who everyone else thinks you should be—and finally give yourself permission to be who you are? In this episode of Wine, Wisdom & What Now?, Yolanda Holliday sits down with transformation speaker, coach, and founder of Transform with Tam, Tamara Clark, for a powerful conversation about identity, expectations, healing, and learning to embrace the woman you are while still becoming the woman you’re meant to be. Tamara opens up about becoming a mother at a young age, navigating financial hardship and major life transitions, and spending years carrying other people’s expectations of what her life should look like. She shares what changed when she stopped trying to get it right for everyone else and began doing the internal work for herself. Yolanda and Tamara also explore the difference between loving yourself and truly knowing yourself, why some of the shame and expectations we carry may not actually belong to us, learning to sit with yourself without all the outside noise, and why becoming doesn’t necessarily mean creating someone new—it can mean uncovering the woman who was there all along. This week’s pairing: Estate Grown Petite Sirah from Theopolis Vineyards, a bold, layered wine that pairs beautifully with a conversation about transformation, rebuilding, and becoming. A question to reflect on: How much of the woman you’ve been trying to become is based on what you want—and how much is based on what others have told you your life should look like? Ep 016 | Life on My Own Terms | Wine, Wisdom & Choosing Freedom

What if the life you worked hard to build no longer feels like the life you want? In this episode of Wine, Wisdom & What Now?, Yolanda sits down with Coach MJ Hunter, a next chapter coach, content creator, author, and solo van lifer who decided she wasn’t going to spend the next season of her life waiting for someday. After more than 20 years in corporate America, MJ sold her home, bought an empty cargo van, converted it herself, and hit the road.  But this conversation is about much more than van life. Yolanda and MJ talk about trusting yourself, letting go of the life you think you’re supposed to want, redefining success, taking risks, and recognizing that time may be more valuable than the things we’ve worked so hard to accumulate.  MJ also challenges the idea that we need to have everything figured out before making a move. Sometimes confidence comes after we begin. As she puts it, “It takes courage, not confidence.”  This Week’s Pairing: Good Times Good Friends Pinot Grigio from Love Corkscrew. A Question to Reflect On: If you stopped thinking about what you’re supposed to want, what would you admit that you actually want? Ep 015 | Who Are You Without the Title | Wine, Wisdom & Rediscovering Yourself

Who are you when the title, the career, or the role that helped define you is suddenly no longer there? In this episode of Wine, Wisdom & What Now?, Yolanda Holliday sits down with Tammy Oglesby for an honest conversation about identity, career transitions, faith, grief, and rediscovering yourself when life takes an unexpected turn. After nearly 30 years of building a successful corporate career, Tammy found herself facing an unexpected job loss—and with it, a question she wasn't fully prepared to answer: Who am I without my career? Tammy opens up about how much of her identity had become connected to her accomplishments, degrees, promotions, and professional success. She shares the difficult days that followed her job loss, including seeking therapy, grieving the life she knew, and learning how to create structure when she no longer had a workplace determining the rhythm of her days. Together, Yolanda and Tammy talk about learning to hear your own voice, releasing the need for permission, recognizing when you've outgrown a season, and understanding that you can be grateful for what a chapter gave you while still wanting something different. The Pairing: Theo-patra’s Cuvée Blanc from Theopolis Vineyards, a Black-owned winery founded by Theodora Lee. A Question to Reflect On: If every title you carry disappeared tomorrow, how would you describe the woman underneath them? Connect with Tammy: Tammy is building her personal brand, Becoming Her, along with resources designed to help women reflect on their identity, explore what's next, and begin building something of their own. Ep 014 | Big Things Happening | Wine, Wisdom & Celebrating the Journey

Big Things Happening | Wine, Wisdom & Celebrating the Journey When was the last time you stopped long enough to celebrate yourself—not because the work was finished, but because you kept going and reached a milestone worth acknowledging? This week’s episode of Wine, Wisdom & What Now? is a special one. Yolanda is popping the Champagne and celebrating the official opening of The Curated Circle, a community created for Black women 40+ to connect, find support and resources, and navigate this season of life together.  But this conversation is about more than launching a community. It’s about learning to celebrate along the journey. So often, we reach one goal and immediately start chasing the next without acknowledging what it took to get here. Yolanda reflects on giving herself grace, doing things she’s never done before, and finally being able to say, I did that—and I’m proud of myself.  This Week’s Pairing: B. Stuyvesant Champagne — because some moments deserve more than a quiet acknowledgment. They deserve a raised glass.  A Question to Reflect On: What have you accomplished recently that you moved past without taking the time to truly celebrate? Ep 13 | Take Off the Mask | Wine, Wisdom & Showing Up as Yourself

What happens when the version of you everyone sees doesn’t match what’s really happening behind closed doors? In this solo episode of Wine, Wisdom & What Now?, Yolanda Holliday gets honest about the masks we sometimes wear—the smiles, the “I’m fine,” and the picture-perfect version of life we present to others while privately knowing that everything isn’t okay. Yolanda challenges us to consider the emotional cost of pretending and asks a powerful question: Do you want to appear happy, or do you want to actually become happy? This conversation is an invitation to take off the mask, get honest about what’s happening in your life, and create space for the real you to show up. Yolanda also talks about the importance of having safe people you can be vulnerable with and shares a simple self-reflection exercise to help identify what may need your attention in this season.  If you’ve been telling everyone you’re fine while quietly carrying something very different, this episode is your reminder that you don’t have to perform happiness. You deserve to do the work that allows you to actually experience it. This Week’s Pairing: 🍷 Black Girl Magic Sparkling Brut by McBride Sisters — a crisp California sparkling wine made with Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay, with tropical aromas of pineapple and melon and flavors of apple, pear, and white peach.  Reflection Question: Where in your life are you working harder to appear okay than you are to actually become okay? Who is in your circle—and do you have the kind of community that challenges you, supports you, and reminds you that you don't have to figure everything out alone? In this solo episode of Wine, Wisdom & What Now?, Yolanda Holliday opens up about why community has become such an important part of her life and why she believes every woman deserves a space where she can be supported, encouraged, challenged, and understood. Ep 011 | Choosing Peace | Wine, Wisdom & Trusting Yourself

What happens when you finally trust the feeling that tells you something isn’t right—even when walking away means stepping into the unknown? In this episode of Wine, Wisdom & What Now?, Yolanda Holliday sits down with occupational therapist Shayla for an honest conversation about choosing peace, trusting yourself, setting boundaries, and finding the courage to make difficult decisions. After years of naturally putting others first, Shayla found herself facing a decision that required her to do something that didn't come easily: choose herself. Just months after becoming engaged, she recognized that the relationship wasn't aligned with the peace and future she wanted and made the difficult decision to walk away.  Together, they discuss: —Learning to listen to yourself when you don't have all the answers  —Recognizing when something no longer feels right  —Choosing peace even when the decision is difficult  —Why having boundaries begins with respecting yourself  —The difference between compromise and settling  —Learning to receive support after years of doing everything yourself  —Trusting God when you can't see what's on the other side Shayla also opens up about what she wants from love moving forward: emotional safety, maturity, partnership, and the freedom to fully be herself. As she puts it, she's willing to compromise, but she's no longer willing to settle.  Whether you're questioning a relationship, struggling with a difficult decision, or simply learning to trust your own voice again, this conversation is a reminder that choosing yourself doesn't mean giving up on love—it means refusing to lose yourself in the process. This Week's Pairing: Brown Estate Chaos Theory — a full-bodied red blend featuring dark fruit, warm spice, and layers of blackberry, plum, clove, cinnamon, vanilla, and earthy notes.  Reflection Question: What have you been feeling in your gut that you keep trying to talk yourself out of—and what might change if you finally trusted yourself?
