Battle Belongs to God: 2 Chronicles 20 - 3 of 4 Come Follow Me

magine going into battle with no weapons — just a promise. That's exactly what happened to Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah when they faced a mighty army. Through the prophet Jahaziel, the Lord declared: "Be not afraid nor dismayed... for the battle is not yours, but God's." In this episode, we explore what it means to trust God with the battles we can't fight alone — and why that doesn't mean doing nothing. Jehoshaphat still had to gather his people, march forward, and even put musicians at the front of the army. We'll unpack why we so often exhaust ourselves trying to win battles we were never meant to fight on our own, and how Christ's invitation to "come unto me, I'll give you rest" changes everything. We'll also tackle the question many of us silently carry: "Can I really be celestial? Am I worthy of heaven?" The answer isn't about earning it — it's about learning to trust the process and uniting with Christ, who has already won the ultimate battle for our souls. Jesus Doesn't Keep Score of Your Failures - EP 45

A Bad Day Doesn't Define You We've all had days where nothing seems to go right. Mistakes pile up, opportunities slip away, and by the end of the day it's easy to wonder if we'll ever get it right. In this encouraging episode of Walking With the Savior Podcast, John Kirkman reminds us that one bad day doesn't define who we are—and it doesn't define how Jesus Christ sees us. Using examples from athletics and the life of the Apostle Peter, John explains that the Savior never expected perfection on the first try. Instead, He offers forgiveness, strength, and the opportunity to begin again. John also shares the importance of developing a daily spiritual "post-game routine" by ending each day with prayer, gratitude, repentance, and reflection before placing yesterday in the Savior's hands. Through Jesus Christ, every morning is a fresh start. The sun will rise tomorrow, and the Son will help you rise too. Stop Chasing Happiness. Start Serving Others! - EP 44

The Secret to Lasting Purpose What gives life lasting meaning? Is it chasing bigger goals, greater success, or personal happiness? In this inspiring episode of Walking With the Savior Podcast, John Kirkman explores why true fulfillment isn't found by looking inward, it's found by looking outward through the example of Jesus Christ. Drawing on insights from author Tom Rath, John explains that while the world encourages us to pursue our own passions, the Savior invites us to live a life centered on serving others. Every miracle, every act of compassion, and every conversation Jesus had pointed toward lifting someone else. When we begin asking, "Lord, whose life can I brighten today?" instead of "What's my purpose?" everything changes. Our faith grows, our perspective shifts, and we discover that our deepest joy comes not from what we accomplish for ourselves, but from what Christ accomplishes through us.
