The Shine Seeker Show

The Sunburst Strategies Co.

Welcome to The Shine Seekers Show, an explosion of creative strategies for life AND business. I'm Katie-Beth Schultz, founder of The Sunburst Strategies Co., and I believe strategy and soul are never separate conversations. Here, we don't split up life and work because honestly, they are completely melded together, and that is exactly the point. Every episode, we're digging into the real stuff: the clarity, the strategy, the marketing, and the mindset underneath all of it, because the best business plan in the world won't move you forward if you don't believe you're worth showing up for. We'll have real conversations, honest moments, and actual strategies you can take and use in your business today. Sometimes we'll have guests. Sometimes it'll just be us. But every single episode orbits around one central question: what is the shine you're seeking? You were worthy of this calling before you ever sent a single email. Now let's build something that shines. ☀️

#7: Ambition, Gratitude, and the Shine Within

You're allowed to be hungry and grateful at the same time. That's not a contradiction. It's just who you were made to be. In this episode, Katie-Beth walks through how ambition rooted in purpose is a different animal than ambition rooted in fear, why online right now has no middle ground, and how to hold gratitude for today alongside the truth that you are not done yet.   IN THIS EPISODE:   The Instagram trap: what really happens when you see the polished-team content and how to feel the pull without falling into comparison Why online right now has no middle ground, and why the women running businesses IN the middle need a louder voice Ambition rooted in purpose vs. ambition rooted in fear — the real difference between the two, and how to tell which one you're operating from How to hold "I'm grateful for today" alongside "I'm not done yet" without either one canceling the other out The kindergarten teacher story and the healthy competition with yourself that lives underneath all of this The power of planning on purpose so gratitude and ambition can run parallel instead of fighting each other Katie-Beth's honest example, including where she is physically right now and how she's applying this to her own body The throughline question: what is the shine you're seeking, and is it connected to a bigger why than the bank account?   MEMORABLE MOMENT: "Wanting to grow, wanting to seek your shine, wanting to draw closer to the sun and the light, that is not being ungrateful."   RESOURCES MENTIONED:   The Shine Strategy Reset (free 15-minute diagnostic): https://thesunburststrategiesco.com/resources The Sunburst Strategies Co. #6: Patience As a Business Strategy

I almost made a really big decision this week. The kind you can't take back. And right before I did, someone I trust looked at me and said, "No, don't do this." Not because it was a bad idea, but because I was about to make a permanent decision from a temporary season. If you're building something and you carry a hundred ideas around at any given moment, you already know that not every idea is meant to be acted on right this second, and some of the ones that feel the most urgent are the ones we'd most regret.   Here's what the messy middle does to you. It makes you feel like you're one step away from the finish line and also like the discomfort is never, ever going to end. If you've ever been in a season that felt like it would last forever (potty training, anyone?), you know your nervous system starts to believe that this is just how life is now. And when we sit in that discomfort long enough, we'll do almost anything to make it stop. That's exactly when the not-so-great decisions get made: you restructure something that just needed more time, you quit something that was about to turn a corner, you shrink your whole life to fit a season that was never meant to be permanent.   So this episode is my case for patience as an actual strategy, not the sit-on-the-couch-and-wait kind. Real patience keeps building, keeps showing up, keeps following up, all while trusting that the work you're doing right now is compounding into something. I love the gardening picture for this. You don't plant a seed and then dig it up a week later to ask if it's growing. You water it, you give it sunlight, you tend it, and you trust the process that's proven to work. But (and this matters) there's a difference between letting something breathe and feeding nutrients to a limb that's already dead. Part of the work is knowing which is which, staying consistent with the correct activities, tracking what's actually moving the needle, and being honest about what needs to be cut so the good growth can get what it needs.   I'll be honest with you, I am one of the most impatient women on the planet and a very quick decision maker, and that gift needs a counterweight. For me, that counterweight is patience, prayer, and people. It's stopping to breathe before I move. It's finding a woman who's standing on higher ground, respecting her time like the gift it is, and letting her tell me what she can see that I can't. It's why community matters so much, because building something can feel so lonely, and you need people who've had those foggy glasses on before and can promise you it clears.   So before you make your next move, ask yourself: what is the shine you're seeking, and is this decision pointing you toward it, or just making the discomfort stop? Only one of those choices gets you to the thing worth building. You haven't lost your shine. You're just in the messy middle, working your way up to the view. Keep going.   Resources mentioned: The Sunburst Strategies Co. #5: Being Okay in the Messy Middle

This week's episode is the one Katie-Beth wasn't sure she was allowed to record. No script, no makeup, no plan, the cat and the dog wandering through the office, the door wide open, and the most honest conversation she's had on this show so far. If you've been waiting for the season where you finally have it all together before you let yourself be seen building, this one is for you.   IN THIS EPISODE:   Why Katie-Beth is recording with no script, no makeup, and no plan, and why that decision is the message itself this week The version of business that gets sold to us (nails done, hair done, makeup done) and what happens when that picture becomes a cage The difference between perfection and excellence, taught from inside the messy middle and not from the other side of it What it means to "let all be your all" when your all today is not the same as your all last month The looking-glass self, being your own biggest critic, and the quiet ache of waiting on your own approval The throughline question turned all the way back on Katie-Beth, and then back on you   MEMORABLE MOMENT: "Why on earth would I wait for perfection when I can be excellent right now today and have an impact on someone."   RESOURCES MENTIONED:   Free Shine Strategy Reset™ (15-minute diagnostic): https://thesunburststrategiesco.com/resources Free Sunburst Strategies Co.
