    The Outfield

    We're closing in on our position by position lessons as the MLB Postseason is on the horizon. This week we cover the Outfield. No we don't simplify position by position in the outfield because if you're in the outfield, you're there to cover ground, so we try and cover a lot of ground this episode, and it's safe to say, when the Pat is back, Nicky loses focus on the lesson at hand. With the Postseason upon us, Pat's starting to be a little more selective on what questions he wants to answer with full effort. Will he gain more success?     Score Keeping

    We have a guest this week, and she learns ball like a GIRL!. Ashley Sharma joins the studio this week, while Pat is out of town, to learn scorekeeping for baseball. Ashley has experience keeping hand score for basketball games, so she takes a crack at accounting the stats and at bats to pass the time for the great pastime. Ashley starts the show off just like most women who attend a baseball game with Nick, looking for an out beyond the score card, but as the show goes on she learns that her best plan of escape to keep it 400.     Short Stop Believing!

    Slow Pitch is moving to Tuesday episode release. We have started a contract with Dated Vintage Media LLC where we are contractually obligated to release our episodes on Tuesdays just like when movies and CDs would drop. If you, our valued listener, was unprepared for the new episode to drop on a Tuesday, don't worry, 10 minutes into the podcast you will feel at ease to know that the show was just as unprepared to record as the fans are to listen. This week, we discuss the most important position between the infield and the outfield, the shortstop. Pat quickly understands the position the moment he learns that all his childhood crushes have hooked up with MLB's best shortstops. This week was another lesson for Nicky that best way to teach someone about baseball is to not actually talk about baseball when explaining baseball.     Hot Corner!

    Keep on your toes this week, as Pat has his reflexes tested on his weekly Brewers quiz as he learns the ins and out and typical function of the third baseman. It's the middle man position, and there's no doubt this is a podcast cast ran by the middling. We also give Pat a quick breakdown of the MLB playoff picture for 2026, and remind him just how unnerving he should be feeling while his Beer Boys are leading the MLB with the best record.     WARNING! some material may be inappropriate for my mom. This week on Slow Pitch Pat learns about the second base position. As Pat learns about the second base position, he begins to widen his perspective and visualizes the field of baseball to the greater Austin area, and it's safe to say, Pat is beginning to understand baseball! We also check in on Pat's Brewers fandom after they had an encouraging series performance against the public foe, LA Dodgers, in LA. Does Pat realize this? Before this week's lesson, Nicky discusses the record home run performance set on 8/15, by rookie Joshua Baez.     Position Number 3

    This week is episode 11 and it's about the number 3 position which revolves around base number 1. Pat attempts to understand the intricacies of the first base position that don't have anything to lip-to-lip kissing. Some folks think first base is the easiest position on the field, and based off the amount of derailments this episode takes, it could be argued that it's the easiest position to learn about as well.
