Parents Are Losing This Battle and Nobody's Talking About It

Send us Fan Mail 🖤 **Are Black Children Safe in America?** What do you tell your child when they ask if they’re safe? In this powerful episode of **Brothers Just Talking**, Harv C, E., and Da Funky One discuss the deaths of **Nolan Wells (18)** and **Kadir Skinner (19)**, the unanswered questions surrounding their cases, and the fear many Black parents carry when their children leave home. We are not presenting rumors or opinions as facts. Investigations may still be ongoing. Our goal is to ask responsible questions, focus on verified information, and center the humanity of two young men whose families deserve truth and transparency. The brothers discuss: ✅ What Black parents should teach about police encounters ✅ Why survival—not winning—is the priority in tense situations ✅ The difference between real friends and associates ✅ The harm of spreading rumors during active investigations ✅ What body cameras show—and what they don’t ✅ Who should control police footage ✅ Legal and moral questions around deadly force ✅ Teaching awareness without raising fear ✅ Safely recording police encounters ✅ Why documentation, legal help, and independent reviews matter ✅ What all parents should teach about race and accountability ✅ Why grieving families often become investigators ✅ What real police reform requires This conversation is not anti-police. Many officers serve with integrity. But accountability matters when misconduct, poor policy, or missing information erodes trust. Body cameras alone don’t guarantee justice. True accountability requires strong policies, independent investigations, transparency, and consequences when warranted. Parents must also create safe spaces where children can call for help without fear. Teach awareness, calm responses, and the importance of getting home safely. Most importantly: asking for help is never a weakness. 🎙️ **Join the conversation:** What do you teach your children about police interactions? How do you prepare them without instilling fear? Should body cameras always be recording? Who should control and release footage? Why must families fight for answers? What reforms would rebuild trust? Please keep comments respectful. Separate facts from speculation. Two families are grieving. Say their names: **Nolan Wells** **Kadir Skinner** May their families receive truth, peace, and justice. 🎧 **Watch & Listen:** 📺 YouTube: https://shorturl.at/YobbO 🎧 Spotify: https://shorturl.at/gC6uh 📻 iHeartRadio: https://shorturl.at/CMA2O 🍎 Apple Podcasts: https://shorturl.at/fPTSY 👍 Subscribe, share, and join the conversation. **Content notice:** Discusses death, racial trauma, and police violence. **Disclaimer:** Commentary only—not legal advice.
