    EP #13 The Test

Stop failing the same test, sis. Your pride might become your hardest fall. Have you ever found yourself in the same situation, dealing with a different person, but somehow ending up with the same outcome? Same patterns. Same reactions. Same excuses. Just a different season. At some point, you have to stop and ask yourself: Am I actually growing, or am I just getting better at explaining why I keep doing the same things? In Episode 13 of But First, She Prayed, we’re talking about THE TEST—the moments that reveal what’s really going on beneath the surface. The pride we don’t want to admit. The lessons we keep avoiding. The familiar things we keep reaching for, even when God is trying to lead us somewhere different. We talk about what it looks like to keep repeating cycles, how discomfort can make you want to return to what God brought you out of, and why you can’t blame everything on the enemy while refusing to take accountability for your own choices. Because not every setback means you failed, and not every hard season is a spiritual attack. But sometimes, you have to get honest about your part. In this episode, we’re getting into: Recognizing the patterns you keep repeatingPride, stubbornness, and the cost of refusing correctionEsau and the danger of trading something valuable for temporary satisfactionWhy familiar bondage can feel safer than unfamiliar freedomLearning to recognize deception without avoiding accountabilityTrusting God enough to do something different this timeScriptures: Proverbs 16:18, James 1:22–24, Hebrews 3:13, Genesis 25:29–34, Hebrews 12:16–17, Exodus 16, 1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 6:11, and Proverbs 3:5–6. This isn’t about beating yourself up every time you get something wrong. It’s about being willing to look in the mirror, receive correction, and let God work on the parts of you that you keep trying to excuse. So, be honest with yourself: Are you learning the lesson, or are you just waiting for the situation to change?  Listen, reflect, and let’s talk about it. We're talking about living divided, being lukewarm, saying one thing and doing another, and the cost of refusing to choose. This isn't about judging people. It's about telling the truth. There comes a point where you have to stop negotiating with what God already made clear. Stop calling correction judgment. Stop delaying your breakthrough trying to carry people who are committed to staying the same. Waiting To Exhale

📖 Download the FREE But First, She Prayed Prayer Guide: bio.site/Erickatrenee Episode 6 | Waiting to ExhaleWhat happens when God answers the prayer... But now you're responsible for carrying it? Somewhere along the way, I convinced myself that once I reached certain milestones, I'd finally be able to exhale. The husband. The children. The business. The answered prayers. The life I spent years asking God for. But lately, I've been realizing something... Every answered prayer comes with another opportunity to trust God. In this week's conversation, we're talking about the pressure of stewardship, the guilt that can come with resting, and why so many of us are trying to carry tomorrow before we've even finished today. This isn't a sermon. It's just a real conversation between women who are learning how to trust God one day at a time. So pull up a seat. Let's process life together. Scripture: Matthew 6:11 "Give us this day our daily bread." ✨ Let's keep the conversation going. What has been on your plate lately? Leave a comment below. Read someone else's story. Encourage another woman. You never know whose faith you might strengthen with just a few words.
