    The Apostle Paul says this in verse 1: “Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.” The Bible does not express Paul’s going up to Jerusalem as ‘going up to the general assembly of the early church held in Jerusalem.’ The Bible does not use such political words. It simply said, “Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.” What this means is that the Apostle Paul, as a missionary to the Gentiles and with the qualification as an apostle of God, took Barnabas and Titus and went up to the Jerusalem assembly. Titus is a Hellenist. Being a Hellenist means being a Greek person. It means a Gentile, associated with the Greek language in which the New Testament was recorded. Titus is such an important figure that the Book of Titus appears in the later part of the Bible. Titus followed the Apostle Paul, was well trained in faith, and later took charge of and served a church. Whenever the Apostle Paul went to a certain church and said, “Go and solve such and such problems,” he would go, solve them, and return.
