Saved and Slightly Unhinged - Podcast

Saved and Slightly Unhinged

Saved and Slightly Unhinged is exactly what it sounds like. Two friends, saved by grace, figuring out life with Jesus while still being a little chaotic. We’re talking testimonies, everyday struggles, random tangents, and the kind of conversations that probably should’ve stayed in the group chat. This isn’t an educational podcast. It’s real life, real faith, and real growth… just with a little unhinged energy.

EP 09: Resting or Falling Off?

What is rest? It sounds like a simple question, but for many of us, it's surprisingly difficult to answer. In this episode, we're talking about Sabbath and what rest looks like in our real lives. Not the picture-perfect version, but the messy, honest version. Kathy shares her struggle with resting after leaving the corporate world, wrestling with survivor's guilt and the feeling that slowing down means she's somehow falling behind. Even when God is inviting her to rest, she can find herself questioning whether rest is productive enough. Sara shares her own challenges with rest while balancing a full-time job, ministry, and the responsibilities of life as a single woman. Sometimes rest feels impossible to fit into an already full schedule. Other times, what starts as rest can drift into isolation, exhaustion, or even a depressive episode, making it difficult to discern the difference between healthy Sabbath and simply checking out. Together, we unpack what we perceive God intended Sabbath to be, why rest isn't something we earn, and how true rest is found in His presence rather than our performance. Maybe Sabbath isn't about escaping life. Maybe it's about creating space to remember who God is and who we are in Him. Reflection Question: What does your ideal Sabbath day look like, and why do you feel it's important to intentionally make space for rest?
