ALMO Talks

ALMO Talks – Between Teacher and Parent is a podcast about the conversations that truly matter in education. We open the door to the classroom and bring together teachers, parents, and education professionals to explore the real experiences behind a child’s learning journey. Through honest conversations, personal stories, and different perspectives, we talk about what happens between home and school — the challenges, the misunderstandings, the successes, and the moments that shape children. Because education is not only about grades and results. It is about relationships, trust, development

How We See Children: Potential, Authenticity and the Power of Letting Them Be

What happens when we stop trying to shape children into what we think they should be and start seeing who they really are? In Episode 3 of ALMO Talks, we open an honest conversation about children, their individuality, their potential and the importance of allowing them to grow through authenticity rather than constant correction or comparison. We talk about how adults see children, how parents and teachers can sometimes unintentionally do too much for them, and why giving children space to think, try, fail, make decisions and become increasingly independent is such an important part of their development. At ALMO, we believe that every child has their own potential, their own rhythm and their own way of learning. Our role as adults is not to create a perfect version of a child, but to create the environment in which that child can discover who they are and what they are capable of. In this episode, we explore: How we see children beyond academic performanceThe difference between supporting a child and doing things for themWhy autonomy is essential for developmentHow authenticity can become a source of performance and confidenceThe role of parents and teachers in creating space for independenceWhy children need opportunities to make decisions, struggle and find their own solutionsHow we can recognise and nurture a child’s individual potentialThis is a conversation about children as they are — not as we expect them to be.
